We just found out I am pregnant, but we already talking about names...I am a really indecisive person, but a name for our baby is too important to take lightly. I really like the names

Girls

Blake

Brenna

Kenna

Maddison

For boys, I kind of like

Elijah

Matthew

Micah

The babies last name will be McWhorter...I need advice on this and middle names.

I like Brenna for a girl, and I love Elijah (nn Eli) for a boy. I think they sound great with your last name, too.

Hi and congrats on expecting!

Here are my thoughts on your name list-

Blake- Pretty name. Needs a VERY feminine mn, one syllable names usually sound best with 3+ syll. mn - Blake Vanessa McWhorter, Blake Elizabeth McWhorter, Blake Alexandra McWhorter, Blake Amanda McWhorter, Blake Elaina McWhorter, Blake Jillian McWhorter, Blake Lindsay McWhorter

**Brenna**- Definitely my fave on your list. This is a beauty. Brenna Elise McWhorter, Brenna Ellen McWhorter, Brenna Ariel McWhorter, Brenna Adrienne McWhorter, Brenna Clare McWhorter, Brenna Avery McWhorter, Brenna Ansley McWhorter, Brenna Rose McWhorter. Brenna Kate McWhorter

Kenna- This is okay. Seems like a nn for the popular McKenna. Kenna Adrienne McWhorter, Kenna Gabrielle McWhorter, Kenna Isabel McWhorter, Kenna Madeline McWhorter

Maddison- No, no, no. I'm in Deep South where this name first became popular. I know 9 under the age of 15! If you do use it, I think you should drop the extra d- unless it's a family name spelled that way.

Elijah- Great name. Really growing in popularity. Why not Elijah Matthew McWhorter?

Matthew- Too popular for my taste. Love the name. Great mn.

Micah- I LOVE this name! Micah Timothy McWhorter, Micah William McWhorter, Micah Preston McWhorter, Micah Holden McWhorter, Micah Seth McWhorter, Micah Daniel McWhorter, Micah Levi McWhorter, Micah Stuart McWhorter, Micah Ethan McWhorter, Micah Luke McWhorter

Also, might you consider a family name for the mn? Children really do like to be named for someone.

Suggestions-

1. Your mn or maiden name

2. Father of baby's mn

3. Name of a grandparent

4. Your mom or mil's maiden name

5. A special place/book character/movie character

At the very least, a mn with a great meaning!

Take care, Ginger

But what do you think of Blake Ashley...and maybe Elijah Michael or Elijah Joseph

The name Blake to me is more masculine... Always has been.. I perfer Blake as a male name... But I do like how it would go with your last name.. Your best bet would be to stick with first and middle names that don't have more than 2 syllables... I like one syllable names that can go with 2 or 3 syllable names but not too long... Good luck in choosing a name! I think since all these new trendy names for boys is popular we might end up sticking with a more traditional name for our son...

Hugs,

Rebecca

I love the name Brenna from your list, it's a really beautiful name. MN suggestion? Madison from your list also. Brenna Madison McWhorter...what do you think?

I'm not sold on any from your boys' list...I like Micah the best but I'm not sure about an M fn with an M ln..Matthew would be my second choice. I don't really care for Elijah at all. Suggestion from me with that list would be Matthew Elijah McWhorter.

Good Luck, keep posting and let us know what you decide! :)

~~ Okay, now we're talking :o) I love this! ~~

Girls

Blake Rose or Blake Ashlee ~ of the two, definitely Blake Ashley (this spelling). would prefer others on your list, however

Brenna Nicole or Brenna Elise ~ both names are lovely, and of course I *love* the name Brenna. So beautiful

Madison Grace or Madison D're ~ would prefer Grace as a mn, if you decide to go with this fn

Eden Grace or Eden Elaine (Elaine is my middle name) ~ Eden is a great name as well, definitely my 2nd choice on this revised list. the MNs i'm not so sure about, however

Rayghann Nicole or Rayghann Rose ~ of the two, Nicole as the mn definitely. the spelling is a little too much, though. I like the Raegan spelling myself

Natalia Grace or Natalia Blake (don't like Natalie, but I like this twist) ~ eh, not a big fan of Natalia..I actually like Natalie better :)

Nevaeh Grace or Nevaeh Nicole (Neheah is Heaven spelled backwards) ~ not sure how to pronounce the fn..not my favorite, for sure

Magee Grace or Magee Elise ~ pronounced like Maggie? don't care for it at all

Boys

Elijah Charles or Elijah Joseph ~ both names are great

Micah Holden or Micah Joseph ~ ditto, but not so sure about the MM alliteration

Brennen Michael or Brennen Zane (Michael is the dad's mn, Zane is my grandfather's) ~ *love* Brennan (this spelling) Zane. awesome name

Brendon Michael or Brendon Zane ~ prefer Brennan

Ayden Michael or Ayden John ~ prefer the spelling Aidan..I like the name (it's my son's mn) but it's being over-used lately, imo

Braydon Zane or Braydon Luke ~ again, I prefer Brennan but I like mn Luke

Michael Zane or Michael Holden ~ prefer Micah, ditto on the alliteration though

Gosh, great list! My favorites are Brenna (either mn) and Brennan Zane

Good Luck!! :)

I like Brenna the best from your girls list, and I think it goes very nicely with your last name. As far as a mn--how about Danielle?

Brenna Danielle McWhorter...

I would have suggested Rose as a mn, but I think that with your last name, the full name would be too heavy on the "r"s.

For the boy names, I think I like Elijah the best, from your list, b/c I'm not really a fan of alliteration--first name and last name starting with the same letter/sound.

Hope that helps! Best of luck to you!
