Help!

Hello,

I just found out this morning that I am pregnant. My fiance already is talking about baby names. I am glad that he is so excited but I feel so overwhelmed. He has one son named Elvis Tyler, and a daughter named Presley Taylor. He wants to name the new baby, if its a girl, Priscilla. I am okay with that name but I like Isabella better. I don't know how to get him to budge. I can't even think of a name that goes with Priscilla except Marie and I absolutely refuse that one. For a boy he wants to name it after his father who passed, David

First of all congrats on the wonderful news!! I have to say i love the name Isabella!! Personally if this was my partner i would try to stress the point that each child should be able to associate closely with each other - but cant they do that through parents and not through their names? I really think that each child deserves their own name and therefore a chance to create their own identity - going with the middle name T or the Elvis theme i think this goes against that.. Maybe you could try to compromise and have Isabella Grace (I read a post from a pp and that goes with the Elvis theme a little more subtly i suppose and also your post - I LOVE IT!) I think thats a beautiful name - just remember - this is also your child and you need to love the name as much as him 8-) Let us know what you pick :D

Thanks! I have tried with the whole each kid needs their own identity and they should be able to be individuals but its not working in my favor right now. He said that a name should be something that the parents pick out - it doesn't define the person or make the personality. I have to agree but on the same token I think each name should go well together without having to be directly related to Elvis!

I don't think I have mentioned yet I

Oh well i suppose it was worth a try - and i suppose i have to believe on some degree that a name doesnt make a child who they are.. (like you cant pick a name because its a "butch" name and then my son wont be gay) but i still feel that each child deserves their own individual name - maybe you could just try the "This is my child too" whinge lol :P Im out of ideas :P Good luck

I agree with the posters that suggested Priscilla as a middle name - it continues your theme, but isn't as over-the-top. Some ideas:

Grace Priscilla
Gracyn Priscilla
Gracelyn Priscilla
Isabelle Priscilla
or maybe:
Isabella Grace/Gracyn/Gracelyn

Good luck and congratulations!

"He wants to keep with the whole Elvis theme."

While I think it's great that he's excited YOU are part of the equation as well AND your kids.

I'm sorry, but who is carrying the baby? Who is going to be the one who gives birth to her? You both equally conceived of her, so you should both have a say in her name. If the only reason he doesn't want a certain name is because it has no relation to Elvis Presley (even though he does like the name), that's just ridiculous to me. I would absolutely have to draw the line. :(

GREAT NEWS!

Ok, we talked about the name thing. He agreed that if I could find another name that he likes more than Priscilla Leigh then he would consider it. :) He does not like Isabella because it is too common but at least I have a fighting chance now :) For a boy we agree on David but we aren't sure on the middle name. He gave up the Elvis Presley theme.

Now I need help with girl names that are not common and have NO relation to Elvis :) Any suggestions?

Thanks
