Ok -

My husband and I have a hard time agreeing on names.

When we were pregnant with our first we (finally) came up with 2 that just happened to start with "B" (honest).

Well our first was a boy so rather than hash out a whole new set of names we went with the other "B" name when we had our girl.

Honestly, I would just go ahead and choose a name that doesn't start with a B. It might be different if you already had 3 or 4, but I don't think I would feel left out if I was the youngest of a sibling set of Benjamin, Beth and Jackson (or similar). This way, if #4 comes along, you aren't really, really stuck with Bs.

If you do decide to go with the B trend, a few I that I like are: Benjamin, Bridget, Brenna, Bronwyn, Beatrice, Bailey.

Unless you and your husband also have B names, i.e., you new baby would be the only 1 of 5 not to have a B name, I recommend that you simply choose the name you love best, regardless of whether it is a B name. I mean, if you had 4 or 5 B-named kids, I'd say: you have a pattern going, choose another B name so that s/he doesn't feel left out. But with only 2, there's no pattern to speak of, just a coincidence. Unless you bring it up a lot, most people would never even notice.

But if you want a B name, maybe Benjamin, Brendan, Brandon, Brennan, Brian, Brad, Braddock, Bradley, Braxton, Brice, Bryson or Bradford for a boy, or Bryn, Bronwyn, Belinda or Bedelia for a girl. Good luck!

I've said this before, but my DH (Adam) has two brothers who both start with J. He hadn't even noticed it 'til I pointed it out!

I have two girls who start with C (total coincidence, in fact it was almost a reason not to start the 2nd one with C) and my DS starts with J. I hate it when people think I planned the "C" name thing!

Go ahead and choose a name you and DH love. You don't want to have to tell the child "Well, Daddy and I didn't love your name, but it just happened to start with the right letter!"
