Hi! I had a stillborn daughter at 28 weeks with the name Miranda Alissa( after my sisters Amanda and Melissa.
I have a 7 year old son named Matthew Carver...(Carver is after my grandfather)
I have a 5 year old son named Michael Patrick...(Michael is after me MIchelle and Patrick is after my husband)
Had a miscarriage ...no name...
Now pregnant with hopefully a successful pregnancy. I am 18 weeks.
Here are a few names we have gotten for a girl so far
Amelia Rose (Rosa was great grandmother)
Maylie Rose or Maely Rose, (Mae is after my mothers middle name)
Payton Rose or Peyton Rose (P name for my husband...no other reason but that we like it)
Emma Rose no reason for Emma
Avery Rose no reason for Avery....
I have no Boys names......and right now my odds are more that its a boy cause i already have two boys..... Please help!!!
Also, my Great Grandmothers middle name was Belle, Rosa Belle..... Would like to use Belle in some form....
My Grandmothers name was Dorothy. I loved her like a mother and she passed away in 2003 from Pancreatic Cancer......and suffered alot with it for 8 months. I would love some kind of shortened or combination type name honoring her. I just dont want to use Dorothy. To old of a name for me.
I wait for your replys!! Thanks for your time.
MIchelle

Congrats on #3!
Amelia Rose - very pretty and if you like nicknames Millie, Mia, and Lia are great options. This is a classic name that fits well with your boys
Maylie Rose or Maely Rose - I do not care for either name, they seem juvenile and not strong like your sons names. I do like Mae - Maeve might by nice - Maeve Rose is very pretty
Payton Rose or Peyton Rose - I really do like unisex names, but Payton/Peyton don't do it for me - sorry
Emma Rose - Emma is too popular for my taste, if you love it, then go for it, but I would keep looking. Emma Rose is a common name, so I would keep looking
Avery Rose - I like Avery, but I like Adeline, Ada, Adelyn, and Adelia much more
Other girl names: I really like both Mae and Belle as middle name
Rosalyn Mae or Belle
Rosaline Mae or Belle
Rosalie Mae or Belle
Rosaleen Mae or Belle
Using Belle in a fn:
Annabelle Rose/Mae
Arabelle Rose/Mae
Bella Rose/Mae
Dorothy, I think that Rory could be a great nn for Dorothy. Rory is spunky like a lot of the unisex names you like.
Dorothy Mae/Belle/Rose, nn Rory
Dorothy Mae/Belle/Rose, nn Rory
Dorothy Mae/Belle/Rose, nn Rory
Lorelie Mae/Belle/Rose, nn Rory
Aurora Mae/Belle/Rose, nn Rory
Boys names: You could always use Rory..
Rory
Gregory, nn Rory
Robert
Luke
Jonathan
Nathan
Andrew
Bennett
Beckett
Calvin
Xander
Asher
Connor
Corbin
Daniel
David
Joseph
Griffin
Harris
good luck,
Brooke
I love all of your girl choices they are feminine and beautiful. I too am pregnant with my third boy... Out of your girl's names Avery, and Maelie are my favorites. As far as honoring Dorothy, I know that in the Jewish religon they honor someone who has passed by merely using the initial of their first name. How about Delilah Belle (if I had a girl her name was going to be Lilah Belle). Belle is a less common name than Rose and equally beautiful. Let me know your thoughts.
Since I like your taste in names so much I was wondering if you can help me..For our boy we are either going to name him Luca Gray (last name is Drasin pronounced Drayson), or Nash....We are having a hard time with a middle name for Nash...any ideas would be appreciated..I have some postings under BOYS..
Thanks,
April
Amelia Rose -- getting to be more popular, even as a combo, but it's still great, and I love that Rose has special meaning for you. ;) This is still a bit M-heavy with your boys' names, but I do like that it's not actually another M name, KWIM?
Maylie Rose or Maely Rose -- every time I see this one it strikes me as just another made-up combination name (sticking the sounds of May and the popular suffix -ley together), especially since it's hardly ever spelled the same way twice, KWIM? An inherently confusing name. So unless you're actually Hawaiian, I'd nix this one. FWIW, it would be my last choice with your boys' names anyway. Much too M-ey. ;)
Payton Rose or Peyton Rose -- nms for a girl, but I do like Paisley (another P name for your dh ), and love that you seem to be trying to branch out from the M sounds a bit
Emma Rose no reason for Emma -- Emma is sweet, but VERY popular, if that will bother you. Also, this is a bit more M-heavy than your similar choice of Amelia, so Amelia would get my vote for those reasons. You may also like Emilia, Emeline/Emmeline, Emelina.
Avery Rose no reason for Avery -- I don't dislike the name, but I'd want a more feminine name for your dd, especially since you gave your first dd a very-feminine name, KWIM? Since you're comfortable with Emma's popularity, Ava Rose might be the perfect alternative here. ;)
Moving on to Dorothy (the reason I really wanted to reply! ) ... this is definitely one you could work with! Have you considered using another "Dor" name to honor your grandmother? Isidora/Isadora seems perfect for you! It has the same "doron"/gift root meaning as Dorothy, and a much more modern feel with the popularity of the very-similar name Isabell(a). Seems like it might be just what you're looking for. ;)
Other forms of Dorothy that might appeal: Doria, Dorinda, Dorothea, Dortha, Dory (I'd use this as a nn but it can stand alone, and since you liked Avery thought the sound might appeal), Thea.

Amelia Rose- This is a nice combo, but Rose is really common for a mn. Since Rosa was her name, not Rose, I would go with that, which is a bit more uncommon, and I find it much more beautiful and will set her apart from all the other little girls with Rose as a mn
Maylie Rose or Maely Rose- I would avoid another M name with Matthew and Michael, too cutesy. I do LOVE Mae though, even though Maely/Maylie seems really trendy. Mae would work nicely as a mn
Payton Rose or Peyton Rose - Nice, but doesn't seem to go well with Michael and Matthew. Too trendy, where as names on your list like Amelia and Emma go much better.
Emma Rose - This is very pretty and goes nicely with your boys' names
Avery Rose - I prefer Avery for boys
I love the name Dorothy... what about Dorothea and calling her Thea? Thea is so pretty and goes well with the classic/timeless Matthew and Michael.
Or to incorporate Belle, maybe Annabel nn Annie, or Isabel?
-Nikki
I already replied, but read your grandmother's name as Rose, rather than Rosa. In that case, have you considered something like Amelie Rosa?
It's lovely, uses your great-grandmother's exact name, is much less common than the very similar Amelia (or Rose as a mn, for that matter), and I just noticed it could also be a combo of your sisters' names, Amanda and Melissa (Amelie from the Am- and Meli- beginnings of each). ;)
Love it for you!
