We can't seem to agree on a girls names. And certainly can't agree on the middle name to go with it. Please give me your honest opinion on these names and help with middle names. I like names that aren't common and my husband likes more common names.
1. Riley
2. Ragan
3. Mackenzie
4. Kaitlyn

hello!! well, heres my honest opinion on your list:
riley and ragen-im not all that into the unisex names. i do like riley, but only for a boy...and names like ragen, kennedy, mckinley-arent my style at all.
mackenzie and kaitlyn are more common that you think-i know 3 mackenzies right off the bat-and about 6 kaitlyns(all different spellings). these 2 arent bad names, but they are REALLY trendy and really popular. theyre right up there with hailey, isabella, madison, etc.
heres a few suggestions on names that arent that common and are classy and pretty(at least in my opinion):
angelique
alexiana
kara/cara
marcella
kendall
bianca
krista
maxine
violet
averie
or
nicolette/nicoletta.
as far as middle names, maybe a family name or another name that you really like that would mean something to you...take care!!

The one I like on your list is Ragan, but I prefer the Reagan spelling.

Riley, Mackenzie and Kaitlyn are very common names, with Kaitlyn being the most popular.

I like Reagan - but this spelling. Ragan looks too much like "Rag On"

Some other names you might like:

Delaney
Skylar
Morgan
Peyton
Jensen
Brinley
Teagan
Laken
Carson
Cameron

Let me start by saying that none of the names on your list are really my style-- all are way too common/trendy for me. If I had to pick one, I'd go with Regan (this sp) and soften it with a more traditionally feminine mn like Elizabeth:

Regan Elizabeth

In fact, if you go with a unisex name--you're really going to need a softer mn to go with it (like Elizabeth, Christina, Rebecca, etc). But I ask you to consider the following as fn's (which are of similar style to the names you list, but just aren't quite as popular/common these days):

Rollin
Ryan (Ryan Elizabeth is my guilty pleasure)
Cameron
Jordan
Morgan
Megan
Ashlyn
Rory
Spencer
Bailey
Dylan
Devon
Kendal
Jensen
Mallory
Meredith
Meryl
Leslie
Sydney
Taylor
Elliot (nn Ellie)
Ellis
Emery

I am sorry to tell you this, but all of these names are fairly common. Here are my honest opinions:

1. Riley - This name was fresh and different in 1990, but now this name is trendy and will sound dated when she is an adult. I do not think that this name will age well. I understand the appeal of masculine names for girls, but I think that there are fresher options for you.
Ex:
Hadley
Elliot
Harper
Cassidy

2. Ragan - I do not care for this spelling - Reagan looks nicer and more complete to me. What about:
Tegan
Talia
Sadie
Felicity,nn Fliss

3. Mackenzie - this name is also very dated IMO. What about:
Margaret, nn Maggie (Maggie is fine on its own)
Maisie (can also be a nn for Margaret, but I like Maisie by itself)
Marina

4. Kaitlyn - there are so many ways to spell this name and it is VERY trendy right now. If you really like this name, then go for it - but I have to recomend that you go with the classic Katherine, nn Katie/Kate
There is also:
Catherine, nn Cates/Caddie
Caroline, nn Callie, Caddie, Carrie
Carly
Calla
Camille/Camila, nn Cami
Elizabeth, nn Libby

Good luck!

You say you like names that aren't common, but Riley, Mackenzie, and Kaitlyn are all totally popular and WAY overused. Ragan... do you mean Reagan? I have never heard Ragan before and it doesn't really look or sound pretty to me.

How about...

Clara/Claire

Iris

Matilda

Rhiannon

Bronwen

Marissa

Kelsey

Chelsea

Bridget

Tabitha

Megan

Alanna

Alaina/Elena nn Lainie

Sadie

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I really like the suggestion Delaney and I have actually thought of it before. Right now, I just don't know what I like. But I know that I don't care for my husbands ideas.
Some people say that Reagan is a very common name. It may be in your neck of the woods but it's not all that common in mine. I don't know any children named Reagan and I'm a labor & delivery nurse so I see many, many babies. The other names, I have to agree, are very common but I did say my husband likes common names and those were his ideas.
Thanks for all of your help. Keep it coming.

I think Reagan could be very pretty, and is less common than the other names on your list. And I totally sympathize with the whole husband wanting a very common name thing - my DH is horrible like that. From your list, I think Reagan is the best option, but I would definately pair it with a very feminine middle name.

As far as other ideas, I love Margaret shortened to Maggie like a PP suggested, or

I've known two Reagans; both were high school-aged. Similar to the previous responses I do prefer the Reagan spelling of it. I'm not sure how common it is with younger children but I do like it.

1. Riley - as a girl's name was #53 in 2005. As a boy's name it was #106.

2. Ragan- Spelled as Reagan was #136 on the SSA list for 2005. It is definitely on the rise and is predicted to go higher following the death of Ronald Reagan.

3. Mackenzie - #50 with this spelling

4. Kaitlyn - this spelling a top 50 name since 1992, but with all it's other spellings combined would make it #2 for last 2005.

You said you liked Delaney...that was only 190 on the list. It would have been my first son's name had he been a girl. I still like it, but alas, third child was also a boy.

Good luck on your search for "the" name.

If you haven't already checked it out, here's the website I used:
