Hi, me and my fiance just fount out that we're having a girl in February. We were a bit taken back because we both thought we were having a boy, we are thrilled to pieces about having a girl...but have no clue what to name her.

My 10 yr old daughter's name is Shaelynne Rose, the name doesn't have to start with an S but I would like it to be unique. First and middle name ideas are well appreciated!

The reasoning behind the 'K' spelling is for Superman: his original birth name is Kal-El. I think it's great!

To the OP, I didn't look at the men's names for feminine alternatives. I'm glad my list was helpful, too. :) I think Kalla I would read as "KAL-a", and Kala I would read as "KAHL-a" unless otherwise corrected. Really, I think it just depends on which pronunciation you're looking for. They're both cute, though.

Congratulations! Kalla Elisabeth is great, and spunky enough to complement Shaelynne without being matchy.
