I have a very Irish last name. (Think Mc*****) So far, I have found two names that I like,Brendan and Riley. So I was thinking about Brendan Riley Mc*****. What do you think of this combination and can you think of any other name combinations using one of these names?

Of course I don't even know yet that I am having a boy but it's just a hunch. ;)

Brendan McCarthy (for example) sounds fine. Riley to me is a last name, so I would only use it if it were a family name. It's becoming a trendy girls' name, so it looks a tad odd if it's not a family name. I also think the Brendan Riley McCarthy is a tad over the top in terms of Irishness, if the Riley is just a name you like.

I think it sounds fine - I'm descended from a William Riley R______ so that's just how I like to see Riley - on a boy, in the middle ;o)

Do you have a girl's name picked out 'just in case'?

Riley is used for girls a lot these days, but it might not be bad as a middle name for Brendan.

the whole thing sounds good together.
