Hi everyone-
I'm not sure where to begin...DH and I just started TTC #3. I know I have time but I love reading your advice and suggestions. First of all my DD's name is pretty unique and fits her very well. It's Hollyn. My DH refused to name our DS anything but a strong traditional name so his name is Nicolas. If we have another DS it will be John Richard after our 2 fathers. My Father in law passed away a few years ago and I know it would mean the world to my DH so I'm not even going to think about another boys name.
Girls names, theres just nothing I love and I'm so frustrated about it. I want something that goes nicely with Hollyn. Here are my thoughts and why...
Helena---my moms name is Elaine. I would probably call her Laina for short.
Delaney--my father is Dick and my Mom is Elaine. This is a combo of the 2. DH's moms middle name is Catherine so I would name her Delaney Catherine.
Kennedy Clare- She would have my initals and I've always loved the name Kennedy
Hayden- different for a girl- like the way it sounds. Oh, our last name starts with an H also
Eden Elora- just like the way it sounds
The other factor is I lost my favorite grandma this year and her name is Regina. I wouldn't use it as a first name (my brother would like to when he has kids). My other grandma is Evelyn so I thought about Evelyn Regina after my 2 grandmas. I also thought about Eden Rayna. Ray and Gina were my grandma and grandpa that I absolutely adored growing up. I combined their names and got Rayna. Can't use it as a first name because my friend just had a Rayna.
So to recap here's my list-- I would love some feedback
Helena Catherine
Delaney Catherine
Kennedy Clare
Eden Elora
Eden Rayna
Evelyn Regina
Hayden
Some of the others I've always liked:
Hannah
Lauren
Elise
Lily
Rachel
Thanks for your help!
Kacey

I really like your daughters' name - very pretty and unique.
Helena Catherine - ok
Delaney Catherine - LOVE this
Kennedy Clare - i have never been a huge Kennedy fan
Eden Elora - pretty
Eden Rayna - pretty
Evelyn Regina - ok, don't know that i like both girls names ending in lyn
Hayden - i would normally not like this for a girl, but for some reason i think it would be really cute as a sis to hollyn
Some of the others I've always liked:
Hannah - too plain
Lauren - good middle name
Elise - ok, maybe a middle name
Lily - cute
Rachel - nmsaa
Good Luck - delaney is my fave for you
I love using family names and John is one of my favorites, so I'm kind of hoping you have a boy.
I think Hollyn and Helena have too many of the same sounds, not just the fact that they both begin with H, that I can live with, but the l in the middle of both, and an n in both - just too much
Of course I'm going to say Delaney is the best one, I have a granddaughter named Delaney, and I think it's an awesome name - it honors your mother Elaine just as well - Helena is also somewhat old-fashioned
I'm OK with Kennedy, don't like Clare as the middle for that - wouldn't like anything in the middle with that which started with a hard-C or K, so Catherine wouldn't work - you could do Kennedy Elaine- or Kennedy Elise
Hayden is OK, unisex, but Hollyn has a unisex feel to it - in this case you lose the L duplication, which is a big plus. - you have to gauge whether it'd bother you that Nicholas would be the odd-guy out without an H name - I know many families where there is 2 of one letter and one of a different letter, though, so it's not that big a deal
I intensely dislike Eden and Evelyn - Eden sounds too much to me like the word "eating" and Evelyn to me is ancient becauase I knew so many really old ones when I was a kid
I LOVE Rayna - to me, that should be on your first name list - that also could honor you mom Elaine - Rayna Catherine would sound great
on your "also like" list
Hannah - also too close to Hollyn somehow
Lauren - OK, but bland in this decade after such a huge 70s-90s run
Elise - I like Elise - like I said I think it'd work as a middle for Kennedy
Lily - just never liked this for some reason
Rachel - not crazy for and it's very popular
good luck
I love Delaney Catherine and then I like Helena Catherine
