I need some unbiased advise! My DH and I just happen to love 2 names that begin with "W". The names are Will and Wyatt. The problem is that our last name begins with W. What are your thoughts on alliterative names? I really like both of those first names, but I some how am having trouble getting past the W-W sound. (last name is Whalen)

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks! Susan

I am one that's almost always opposed to alliteration. I don't know why, it's an instant reaction with me.

but I certainly concede that many many people have the same first and last initial and their names sound fine.

in your case I could see William Whalen with the nickname Will sounding OK, but Will Whalen just does not flow well at all, sorry.

and Wyatt Whalen just doesn't sound good together in my opinion.

I really think you should at least consider some other options. but between the two William Whalen sounds the best.

good luck.

JMHO, but I dont like the double W's. Honestly, if it were double almost any other letter it would not be as bad but W is an unusual initial so it sounds funny to me.

I am in full agreement with you and I am opposed to the W-W. I made sure my boys initals are all differnt and I did not use the same letter twice. It may sound weird but I wanted it to be personal and their own.

My boys initals are

\

BDW

CMW

JTW

KPW
