Carly,
I LOVE Devereux. That is just about the cutest. I called DH at work, he is "warming up to it." I called my mom at her conference, she loved it (and she is hard to please). My mom polled the ladies at her conference, at one said the nickname "little devil" will be popular (and probably appropriate given that Avonelle and I both have strong personalities). I just think it is too cute! I have such a weakness for "v" names. Do you think Devereux and Avonelle together is too much? HMMmmmmm. I also really like Marigold. DH is kind of peeved at me about this one, because apparently he suggested it strongly, and I shot it down, so he is like, WHy do you like it now so much that Carly suggested it. BUT, the good thing is, is that he likes it. My mom thinks it is a good name....for a cat, sigh.............. I also like Maisy a lot too. I like Ruby too, but DH is luke warm at best on it. I swear, I think we are name twins, I always like 90% of the names you suggest. I gotta go, but I will update you on what we are leaning towards. If you have any more suggestions, keep them coming!
What does everyone else think abotu the name Devereux (be honest!) and how it goes with Avonelle?
I like it more as a first name, because I love to say it so much, what is a good middle name?

Adelia Belle--I agree with you. Its to matchy with out other DDs name.
Georgia Kate--I love this name I think it is gorgeous and will age well.
Penelope--NMS I always picture a pig when I hear it and no I don't know why really.
Eloise--Again I love. Its beautiful. But like you said may be called Elle or Ellie both are way to popular.

We actually call Devanie (full name Devanie Rose) Devereux quite often, just as a nn. If I heard it as a given name, I'd assume it was a family name. It works fine with Avonelle, IMO (and they're both eight letters ... just an observation). ;)
I like some of the others, like Beatrix, better in general, but I could see this working for you too.
HTH
