I like Millicent best for the FN w/ the NN Millie. Grace is such a filler MN, I'll post again later with some suggestions. Max is my pick for a boy, here are some combos:
Max Vincent
Max Sebastian
Max Everett
Max Pierson
Current loves ~
Casparius & Josephine
Forever loves ~
Eloise, Odette, Desdemona, Isobel, Charlize
Henrich, Judah, Se
Thanks for the suggestions. Just to clear things up Mildred is a family name and I would love to use it. Although I do love Millicent I would just love to honor my Grandma with this name. Max Vincent is adorable I'll have to tell dh!
Kaitlin, mommy to: Elijah Patrick (10), Emma Cass (7), and Millie Grace (5 days!!!!!!)
I think if Mildred is your grandmother's name then you should honor her by using the full name as her legal name. Calling her Millie is very cute. You could also opt to use Mildred as the middle name instead. I love using family names. I am naming my girl after my grandmother too.
My vote is for Max.
I was going to suggest Camille or Camilla as a way to get the nn Millie.
Here goes....
I think it's great to honor your grandma.

I personally like using Mildred with the nn of Millie the best.
oh, I can't believe you'd consider Mildred, that is not a "classic" - it's just old-fashioned, I don't even know anyone MY age (52) named that - it ends in DRED - like the word dreadful, which to me, that name is. I just cannot for the life of me see that on a child in this era. sorry to be so blunt
If you grandmother is Mildred, definitely go with that and just call her Millie. If you just name her Millie, people will always assume it's short for something.
You'll want something that goes with either as a middle name.
For Max, I absolutely prefer Maxwell with the NN. If he grows up and ends up as a professional in some field, a doctor or something, Max might be a hard name to live with. I always think it's best to provide options anyway.
MNs that came to mind were
Maxwell James
Maxwell Joshua
I think you should go w/ the formal approach.
