Help with naming baby #3!

My family needs help!! We're expecting our 3rd child--a BOY, and we can't decide on a name for him... We'd like the name to "go with" our other 2 children's names, and don't want anything too popular. Our son's name is Blake and we have a daughter named Kamryn. We have some ideas, but nothing solid. We are considering: Austin, Landon, Hayden, Connor, Carter and a few others. Our last name is Greene. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks a million.

Of your choices, Carter and Landon are the least popular in my area (SE US). I like Carter and Connor best with your last name, though.

Other ideas:

Tanner
Spencer
Justin
Reilly
Mitchell
Brendan
Evan
Owen
Deacon
Zane
Reid
Carson

Hi and congrats on expecting! First of all, if popularity is of any concern to you, you should eliminate Connor & Austin. If you have questions about popularity, check out the SSA website. It has the top 1000 names for last year listed.

Carter is growing in popularity but has a ways to go before it gets to the popularity of the other two.
Landon is somewhat popular, esp. regionally.

Hayden isn't as popular, but I just read last week that it was in the top five names requested for printed baby announcements on the internet in September & October. So, it may be really hot when the 2004 popularity lists are completed early next year.

Also, on your list, you have names that may not necessarily be in the Top 50 for the nation, but they are all names that have exploded in certain regions. I live in the deep South. Carter & Landon are ultra-popular here and hardly used at all in the Northeast.

With Blake & Kamryn, here are some that I think sound good that aren't terribly popular and also seem to be the "type" of name you like-

Shaw, Alden(all-den), Nolan, Preston, Gage(regionally popular), Gannon, Garrett(#83), Bryson, Owen (regionally popular), Porter, Trenton, Pierce, Maddox, Ames, Jantzen, Holden, Jarrett, Trevor, Walker, Levi, Lawson, Mantz, Quinn, Brennan, Collin, Collier, Chance/Chancellor, Spencer, Sloan, Sheldon, Sumner, Stefan, Daxton, Brogan, Brody-means little brother, Grady, Grayson, Cason, Curry, McKay, Lachlan(lock-lin), Ragan, Rainer, Ramsey---Hope this helps! Let us know what you decide! Ginger

I like Landon and Connor of your list. Hayden is sort of "going to the girls" - Carter is one that I just can't get used to as a first name, don't care for that. Just have never been a fan of Austin, although I can't tell you why.

as far as Hayden, though, your other two children's names are sort of gender-benders. Kamryn's spelling is all girl, but there are many boy Cameron's.

While Blake is unusual for a girl, I guess I always associate it with the Blake on Guiding Light, so it seems like it could be a girl I guess.

anyhow, how about Holden as an alternative to Hayden.

good luck

I LOVE the names Austin and Landon. My favorite boy name is Nathan. But, I have a DD and another girl on the way and I also like the name Austin for a girl. I think it is more popular for a boy, but that may be something to think about.
