Help with naming Baby #3

My husband and I are at a standoff with names and it is starting to take the oomph out of me. We both came into our marriage 11 years ago with two three-year-old boys from previous relationships. My biological son is named Gage and his is named Taylor. You can probably already see the difference in naming styles. The boys are almost 15 years old now and Taylor really dislikes his name because so many girls at his school have it, otherwise I think it is a lovely name. Gage is in love with his own name. Even though his name is more popular now, when I named him it was unheard of and he has always been the only Gage so everyone always remembers him. He writes it on everything and gets many compliments from his friends. I feel it has given him a good self-esteem.

Jump ahead to now, I would still like to use a name that is unique but not to the point of being made up. I also have a great love of name meaning. One reason I chose Gage to begin with was because it means "a pledge, a promise" and that seemed beautiful to me. It was my promise to him. My husband is a bit of a traditionalist and tends to hover towards the top 100 baby name list. Can someone suggest some names that fall somewhere in the middle? Not too popular and not unisex because my poor stepson has really suffered with that. Any suggestions from you knowledgeable ladies would be much appreciated :)

Those are lovely choices, thank you :)
# Taylor, Gage & Dane Sebastian--Dane is my baby cousin
# Taylor, Gage & Walker Sterling--cute, sounds very western :)
# Taylor, Gage & Deegan Thomas--I am not a fan of "eegan" endings (Keagen, Deegan etc.)
# Taylor, Gage & Bryce Alan---Love Bryce, I could use this
# Taylor, Gage & Beau Brian--Our dogs name is Boba (we call him Bo)
# Taylor, Gage & Bridger Courtland--very cute! I loved Courtland but DH vetoed it
# Taylor, Gage & Riordan Scott---This is cute, hadn't thought of it
# Taylor, Gage & Marek Jonas--LOVE IT! It is my #2 on my list (Merrick) DH hates it
# Taylor, Gage & Samson Cole--Cole is cute for a MN,I don't care for Samson
# Taylor, Gage & Elijah Patrick--My mom's pug's name is Elijah..
# Taylor, Gage & Everett Blake--We live in a town called 'Everett' but I love Blake, we have a dear friend named Blake who his handsome and good at everything.
# Taylor, Gage & Nolan Pierce---I really like Nolan but I am a school psychologist and I work with a boy that has many issues with this name so it is hard for me to separate
# Taylor, Gage & Jonas Oliver--Love Jonas! Hadn't thought of this one..
# Taylor, Gage & Kyle Chandler--this is cute, my husband would like it..
# Taylor, Gage & Parker Cameron--this is cute too

You have a great eye for first name and middle name pairing, I will definitely hit you up when we get around to MNs lol ;)
My top three boys choices were:
Griffin
Merrick
Roman
and I also like Asher or Ashton quite a bit

My husband likes:
Nathan/Nate
Owen
Tate
Alexander
Tristan

I like all of his choices as middle names, and I actually really like Owen as a first name but it has become so popular. I was okay with Alexander if I could shorten it to Xander but it conjured images of Buffy the Vampire Slayer for my husband..

I really appreciate all of your help, I will definitely have my husband look over this thread. If you think of anymore let me know. We also don't know if it is a boy or girl so we are having similar problems with girl's names. I don't mind traditional as long as it has some flare:
Emmaline
Arabella
Arianna
Celeste
my guilty pleasure girls name is Phoenix but I know he would never go for it, and he makes fun of me because I like Griffin as well...not that I would name kids together with those names..

He likes
Cadence
Olivia
Rowan (this is too unisex for me..)

How about Phoenix for a boy?

I really like Gavin and Ronan, they are on my list. DH was trying to stay away from G and T names so we didn't "match". I am going to suggest Ronan, it is close to Roman. I am still so in love with Griffin *sigh* I think getting over the disappointment of having to let go of first choice names is really hard on me. I don't know if anyone else has had this experience but some where in the back of my head the name was already set and I could envision a little boy with that name already.

Anybody had any luck changing DH's mind about a name they didn't originally like?

Sometimes if you drop the whole name topic for awhile and come back to it after a few weeks, names that didn't appeal at first will.

Wow, you really do just have an amazing eye for names! I still think my name choices look better with our boys than my DH's lol. Merrick Blake sounds nice and Roman Tate sounds so good I think I might be able to finagle with my husband since it pairs two names we both like.
Archer is adorable and it pairs the uniqueness of Gage with the 'trade name' style of Taylor...

My DH had originally wanted to stay away from G and T names which was his reasonings behind why he didn't like Griffin but he has Tate and Tristan on the list...funny how I haven't brought that up to him before..

I like Nathaniel, but I have a feeling it would be shortened into Nate which reminds me of a gnat for some reason...

It is funny you mentioned Aria because that was going to be the 'nickname' for Arianna :) I loved it!

I like Brielle for a MN, not sure for a first name...
Emelia is cute and classic so DH might like that..
Kendall is very cute, it is pretty but has the no-nonsense masculine undertones. I have always tended to lean towards really frilly girl names for some reason (Aside from Phoenix..) but I think Kendall is really nice.
I also like Gabrielle, a little less since 'Desperate Housewives' but it still has always been one of my favorites.

Thank you for all your advice, DH and I have a lot of discussing tonight to do!
