HELP! need ideas!
| Tue, 10-17-2006 - 7:51pm |
We need help thinking of both boys and girls names for our baby. We want a good strong name, especially for a boy. We like Jack for a boy, but that's all we really like so far. Our last name is Stone... What else goes with it? I need ideas!

With a one-syllable last name, I would probably look for a longer first name, at least two syllables for better flow. Jack Stone is nice, but I think a longer name would be even better, not to mention how popular Jack is. I would also avoid names ending or beginning in "s" as that is what Stone begins with.
Why don't you try to tell us a bit more about your style so its easier to suggest?

Here are some ideas.
Thanks so much! Great ideas. I love Bennett, Garrett, Sam, Hunter, and we also like Cameron and Kelson... For girl names, we like the name Stevie (my dad's name is Steve)
We both love the idea of traditional, but not too boring, and family names.
Woah, naming a baby is so hard!!! =) Thanks for your help.
I like the same ones you like:
Boys:
Bennett Stone, Garrett Stone - I like both of these a lot; Zachary would make a great mn
Sam Stone - sounds like a private I; reminds me a little of Sam Spade; fun name for a boy
Hunter Stone - great name; since your last name is a word, I think it's best to avoid "word" names like Hunter
Cameron & Kelson - both have a unisex feel since Cameron is used so often for girls and Kelsie is popular for girls; that doesn't bother me but some don't like unisex names for boys
Other ideas (sorry if these have been mentioned):
Hudson
Jackson
Paxton
Girls:
I really like Stevie, but I agree with the comment of giving her a more formal name like Stephanie and using Stevie as a nn.
