Our names are Jarrod and Anita Roussel and we are expecting our first little miracle on Thanksgiving day. We are considering the first names Kate (blessed, pure, holy) and Elise (consecrated to God). We are having difficulty choosing a middle name for our little girl. We would truly appreciate your suggestions. :)

I love Kate. Some middle name ideas:

Kate Miriam (Miriam means "wished for child" or is thought to be a version of Mary)

Kate Esperanza ("hope")

Kate Victoria (victory)

Kate Eliana ("God has answered me")

What about Katherine Elise, and call her Kate?

Congrats on expecting!

I love the simplicity of the first names you are considering! I put a b. by biblical suggestions.

I like Kate Miranda, Kate Marissa, Kate Rebecca (b), Kate Amanda, Kate Natalie(b), Kate Andrea, Kate Bethany (b)

Elise Nicolette, Elise Margaret, Elise Millicent, Elise Tabatha, Elise Susannah (b), Elise Naomi (b),

Or Elisa Kate?

Since you are due on Thanksgiving, what about a virtue name, which was a popular theme during Pilgrim times...it also goes along with selecting names with special meaning.

Kate Honor, Elise Verity, Faith Elise, Grace Elise, Kathryn Hope, called Kate?

OR-- Brianna means virtous- Kate Brianna or Elise Brianna?

OR--- after one of you- Elise Jarron or Kate Anita?

Best wishes and let us know what you decide! Ginger

you could incorporate versions of Kate into a middle name for Elise, unless you don't want to use both names in order to save the other for a future daughter.

Elise Katherine or Elise Kaitlin would sound OK. here are some other thoughts for Elise, which I think needs a mn with the accent on the 2nd syllable in order to flow right.

Elise Corinne, Elise Danielle, Elise Gisele, Elise Janelle, Elise Janae, Elise Michelle, Elise Nicole, Elise Noelle, Elise Renee - or some possible 3-or-4-syllable ones - Elise Amanda, Elise Alexandra, Elise Brianna, Elise Mackenzie.

of all the ones I typed in above, I think Elise Corinne has the best flow and sound.

as far as Kate, I'm just not sure because I've never liked Kate as a stand-alone name, I feel it should be Katherine, Kathleen or Kaitlin as a formal name and Kate as the nickname.

but here are a few thoughts: Kate Alexandra, Kate Elizabeth.

good luck.

Hi there! Congratulations!

I have one suggestion, with personal meaning for me. Kate Alia. Alia means "ascending light" in Hebrew. There are a few alternate spellings, but the pronunciation is "uh-LEE-uh." I was a surrogate mother for a baby girl with that name. She is almost two now, and beautiful, perceptive and loving as can be.

Best to you!
