HELLO TO EVERYONE,
WE HAVE OR SO I THINK COME UP WITH A NAME WE BOTH LIKE.
WE ARE ALSO ON THE YELLOW TEAM, SO HERE IT GOES.
girl's ---LAUREN (IS IT TOO COMMON?)
BOY'S--- LAURENCE (WILL HE BE CALLED LARRY BY OTHERS, I WOULDN'T LIKE IT)
PLEASE GIVE YOUR OPINIONS/THOUGHTS.
GREATLY APPRECIATED,
RITA EDD 10/1,2/06

Lauren is very common, at least in my area, but it's still a nice name. Laurence is nms, but I do like Lorenz/Larenz/Loren a bit better (Laurence just seems much older to me, not sure why). One of these alternatives should also take care of the Larry problem (I've known a Larenz and have a cousin Loren and neither gets their name shortened to Larry).

Lauren is common, but it's still a very nice name. Similar names that are less popular are Laura, Lara, and Lana. We considered Lauren for our older DD, but couldn't decide whether to keep Laura or Lauren, so we scratched it. And friends of ours just named their baby girl Loran.
Laurence is not my style, but it's a good, solid name. I think that when he's young, you'll be able to correct anyone who calls him Larry, but when he's older, it will be his decision. If you really couldn't stand to hear someone call him Larry ever, then that might not be the name for you. If you aren't fond of Larry, but it wouldn't bother you to hear his teenage friends call him Larry, then you might still be okay.
Just out of curiosity, do these names honor someone, or are they just names you happen to like?
Good luck deciding on a full name!
Stephanie
I TRULY DO NOT LOOOOOOOOVE THE NAMES.
WE DO WANT NAME OUR BABY AFTER A RELATIVE WHO PASSED AWAY LAST SUMMER.
HIS NAME STARTED WITH 'L'.
THANKS AGAIN GOR THE INPUT,
RITA
Would you be open to any other L names since you don't love those? Or would you be willing to use the L name in the middle name slot and choose a first name that's more your style? Just a thought.
