Lucky you!!! you're so close to seeing that little bundle of mushy cuteness face to face!!! I'm only 22 weeks in, and until about a week ago, my name choices were William Ethan for a boy and either Marley Autumn or Cali Matisse for a girl. (I know, they all sound pretty Hollywood...or at least that's what my friends tell me). Turns out I'm having a boy, so it'll be Will. Note: I love the name Cali and I always have. And I've always spelled it C-a-l-i, or K-a-l-i. However, if you're already looking ahead and seeing your little girl as a business tycoon, I'd give her a more traditional middle name so that she can decide on her own (when she's OLDER!) whether or not to go with a pretty, more unique name that sets her apart, or a more strong, traditional name to instill a more serious first impression (though, as you can see above, I completely agree with your middle name choice...). Then again, my name was Ashley Elizabeth Nikola, and by the time I was in grade school I already wanted to start going by Nikola, because i thought it was more exciting. So whether or not you name your daughter to predispose her to a certain reception, she'll eventually become her own amazing individual self, and no name is going to change that.
I am, lol. How do you pronounce it? I would say "CAW-lee" but since this thread is about "Callie" I'm wondering if you pronounce it like that? (Callie).

I like the name Callie, but only as a nickname.I think a child needs a more formal name growing up.There is always the following suggustions that you could use, with the nickname Callie.
I like the spelling Callie. It's such a nice sweet name I don't think you need to change up the spelling. I don't see variations on most names as making them any more 'professional' than the original.
See, now i personally think that adding the "leigh" bit to it just adds more for the kid to have to learn to spell, but it does look pretty on paper. I also prefer the pronunciation "cal-lee"...i don't think people would mispronounce it too often so i think you're safe there. Where I'm from, a "cay-lee" is a ceilidh, (a kitchen party,) though, so i might be biased... Part of the reason "Cali" was my choice was because of it's simplicity, but I think Calli and Callie are also really pretty spellings, and that seems like something you'll probably have to talk over with the hubby. Knowing your reason for choosing "June" makes it that much more special, and I wouldn't worry too much about how her name is going to set her up in the world - as long as she's not likely to get picked on (and Calli June seems pretty safe to me). In my opinion it's all about whether or not you're going to like saying that same name about 6 times a day (which also doesn't seem so bad in your case). Thanks, by the way!! we're beyond excited and i can't wait to see the little fella. Talk it over with your other (non-connected) half, good luck, and let us all know if you come up with a decision, will ya?
Callie is cute, but some do find it a tad nicknamey. However, changing the spelling isn't going to change that. Callie June is lovely, and the other spellings really make me not like it at all! If you're worried about it being too nicknamey, name her Calla, Calliope
