my dd will be 1 in less than 2 weeks and i just found out that i'm pg with #2! we'd just stopped 'preventing' and got pg the first month! i'm so happy. i picked up a baby name book today and was overwhelmed. our little girl's name is Emeline (emma-line, not leen!) Rae, but we call her Eme. her name was going to be Grayson Lane had she been a boy, but i'm glad she wasn't, i don't think i really like that name anymore (sounds kind of like a girl's name because the beginning sounds like Grace). Back to the drawing board!

i'd like to find something somewhat unique (i don't like 'trendy' names) that will go well with Emeline, which is a VERY old name. We'll find out in a couple of months if it's a boy or girl, but i'd like to be prepared either way.

Any suggestions? our last name starts with an L so no L names :( (i love Lane as a first name, but it just doesn't sound right). We're still thinking of using Lane as the middle name. We've considered Lane Pierce but not sure if Pierce sounds too 'soap operaish'. DH likes Vincent but I'm just not sure. He actually likes Vincente (spanish pronounciation- he is hispanic) but i feel like both of our children should have ethnic names, not just one ;)

I also like Sophia for a girl, but our last name ends in IA too...argh.

TIA!

I like old fashioned names as well. Here are some suggestions:

Olivia

Abigail

Annabelle

Elizabeth

Tessa

Genevieve

Jacqueline

Victoria

Katherine

I know they're not the most original. But, they're names that have stood the test of time. I think that gives them a little more depth and history; strong names.

Hope those help.
