!!! HE'S DUE TODAY !!!

Our son is due today (although we think he'll be late) and we have NO NAME picked!!!
Our daughter's name was etched in stone 4-5 months before she was born and we referred to her by that the whole time.

I hate this.
I have this feeling that the boys name is more stressful if that makes any sense.

The one thing we've ruled out was naming him after me since he'd then be "III", but since this is most likely our last maybe I should revisit that idea?

I had previously posted a poll with some names.
If I can find it, I'll BUMP it.

Any idea? Help? Anything.
Thanks for listening.

Our daughter is Hannah. As soon as we both heard it we loved it and that was it.
The one that has stuck to this point for our new son is AIDAN.
We had no idea how popular Hannah was in '99 until after and it looks like AIDAN is another 'trendy' name.

There is also my name, Steven and my grandfather's name, Harry.
No one seems to like Harry but me.

I used to HATE Aidan when I'd hear the name but it has grown on me these past months.

Aidan Steven G.? Steven Aidan G.??

This is too funny. We had the opposite problem. With our son, we knew his name months ahead and stuck with it. And, at the time, we had barely heard of it - Aidan! Now, we are due with a baby girl any second (maybe a tax write-off and she will come today!) and are just now settling on Natalie Brooke. A lot of people say that naming a boy is tougher, but we found the opposite to be true. Aidan is a good, solid name. I am glad that we named him Aidan.... but, it is frustrating how popular it became the year after he was born - along with ALL of the -aden ending names (Kayden, Brayden, Hayden, etc - I still like Aidan the best of them, tho). It is a bummer to think of him as Aidan A. in a classroom full of Aidans. Being that you like Aidan and we also liked Hannah, maybe you would like some of the boy names we were considering, if this one weren't a girl:
Grant
Nathan
Ethan
Ryan
Landon
Nathaniel
Anders
Mark

Best of luck to you!!!

I quite like Harry but would use Henry and nickname him Harry. Aiden is really popular for boys right now, along with the sound alikes Jaden, Caden & Hayden. I'd stay away from Aiden since there are so many soundalikes already. How about Henry Steven and calling him Harry?

Congratulations...that little munchkin is coming soon. My husband's name is ALDEN (actually Alden Michael). I love his name and have never met anyone else with it. You are more than welcome to have it. I think it means old friend and protector.

OK, firstly, Harry and Henry are NOT interchangeable! Nor is one a nickname for the other. Both are names, and both can be nicknamed Hank. However, a Henry cannot be nicknamed Harry. That makes absolutely NO sense!

As for the name Harry, I don't mind it, but I don't think it matches Hannah. And, although I've met about a bazillion kids with unfortunate monikers like Caden, Hayden, Layden, Jaden, Peyton, etc., I've not met even one Aidan. I think people just assume it's popular because it shows up on the boards so much, and because it was Carrie's boyfriend's name on Sex and The City.

Aidan is a great name, one that will grow with him and that he won't ever be ashamed of. What about Aidan Harry?

Congratulations, and let us know what you decide!

Well, I'm biased but I love Aiden (Aidan) and I have never met one other one where I live. It was only #39 on last years social secuity list, that puts it behind names like Elija, Noah, Kevin, Caleb, Austin, Logan, etc. If you love Aidan than go for it, it makes a nice match to Hannah. Good luck!

Just a quick note to correct the "Harry and Henry aren't interchangable" thought. They are. Harry is a medieval form of Henry and is a long accepted nn for Henry. I see nothing wrong with continuing that usage today and still think it's far classier sounding than Aiden.

Thanks to all for the well wishes and suggestions.
Right now I'm leaning toward Aidan Steven.
Lets see what the Mrs. thinks. :)
