Honest opinions needed!

Hi I have been stuck in the same spot w/ boys names it seems like forever. These include Aaron, Aiden, Ethan, Ian, Luke. I just went all the way through a boys name list and came up with a couple more that just hit me right - Henry, Dominik, Gage. What do you think? I already have 2 kids, Eva & Erik, and want a name that will flow well with their names. Any thoughts or other suggestions? Thanks so much in advance!

I like Aiden or Ian. Of course...I'm partial to Ian because that's DF's name. And I love the name Aiden, but its too close to Ian to use. but I think either of those would flow bst with your other DC's names.

I like it when people stick to the same letter in the first name. I would go with Ethan Gage. Just a suggestion.

No question - I would do Ethan. First of all, it flows great with your other two kids' E names, and second, it's my son's name and I LOVE it!!!

Aaron - A classic. You can't go wrong here.

Aiden - I've never really cared for it, and I'm a bit tired of it.

Ethan - My 2nd ds's name, so obviously, I love it. Your other 2 both have E names, so if you want to keep that trend going this is a great name. It is very popular, though, if that bothers you.

Ian - This name has always sounded broken or something to me, like something's missing. I prefer Ethan much better.

Luke - Very cool and classic, like Aaron.

Henry - sorry, even with the

I have lots of opinions here! LOL

First of all, Eva and Erik are such simple classic names. Another simple classic is the way to go. Also, although they both start with letter e- I DO NOT feel that you MUST use an e- this time because the beginning sound of Eva and Erik is so different. In fact, I'd like it better if you DIDN't use another e-. Because your other two kids' names sound good together without being terribly matchy, a new letter would continue the idea of all three names standing out while still flowing as a family. Here are my thoughts on your list-

Aaron- Too much like Erik

Aiden- Good one, but TOO popular at the moment to go with the others.

Ethan- Same as Aiden, plus way too similar to Eva.

Ian- Now here's the level of popularity you need to go with others, but it's still too similar to Eva.

Luke- This one is really growing in popularity, but is no more popular than your other two. DEFINITELY my 1st choice of the original list.

2nd List- NOW, We're cooking! These are lovely complements to the others.

Henry- I love this one with the others! Plus, though it's not an E- name, there is still a subtle trend/connection here- Eva 3 letters, Erik 4 letters, Henry 5 letters- I like that!

Dominik- Well, biased on this one, because I love the name. Also, it's only one letter away in the alphabet from the e-... Sounds awesome with Eva and Erik.

Gage- This one may be a little bit trendy for the other two. But not bad, not bad at all.

Other suggestions- A different vowel would be a nice transition-

Eva, Erik & Oliver

Eva, Erik & Alden(all-den)(also five letters!)

Eva, Erik & Isaac (can't decide if this one is too similar to Erik for my taste, but I do like the name a lot-might be just perfect- AND is five letters)

Eva, Erik & Abraham(Abe)

Eva, Erik & Ezekiel (BUT called Zeke)

Eva, Erik & Owen

Five letter names-

I really like Henry, Alden & Isaac.

or I LOVE THE FOLLOWING-

Eva, Erik & Colin

Eva, Erik & Rhett

Eva, Erik & Shilo

Eva, Erik & James

Eva, Erik & Grant

I also like moving up or down a letter of the alphabet, esp. moving on to letter F-

(Dominic) or

Eva, Erik & Dane (GREAT FIT)

Eva, Erik & Dax/Daxton

Eva, Erik & Drake

Eva, Erik & Fletcher

Eva, Erik & Finn (Fabulous, & about the right level of popularity for first two kids)

Eva, Erik & Fabien

Eva, Erik * Fane/Fain (LOVE TOGETHER)

Others I just like together-

Eva, Erik & Cain

Eva, Erik & Levi

Eva, Erik & Rafe

Eva, Erik & Troy

Eva, Erik & Tristan

Eva, Erik & Hugh

Eva, Erik & Brandt

Eva, Erik & Ross

Eva, Erik & Bryant

Eva, Erik & Preston

My great aunt was Eva, brother was Preston, other brother had mn Erik- others were Bryant, Davis, & Palmer.

Please don't think you must do the E- again. If you read over these lists, it's obvious, at least to me, how great ALL three kids names can sound together without another E.

Loved your second list, keep us posted! Ginger PS - Is it for sure a boy, 'cause I can think of some FANTASTIC girls' names with your first two...!!!

Thank you Ginger! You had some great feedback. I think you helped me 2 years ago w/ my son's name. You encouraged me to use Erik w/ nn Ike. I too had originally wanted to go with a name that did NOT start w/ 'E'. That wasn't the original idea for the first 2 - it just worked out that way. I like your suggestion of Oliver alot - not sure if dh will though. My mom has asked me a couple times about Dane (we have a Dana in our immediate family so I probably wouldn't got w/ that).

So as far as boy names go I wondered what you thought about some of the names w/ our 'possible' mn choices. Both my first 2 kids have mn's that honor family and I wanted to keep in that some idea. The only names we could come up with were Luke, Noel or Sylvester for mns. Originally I had thought Ian Luke was the best we could get. I still really like Henry - I just didn't know if it sounded okay.

As far as a girl's name - we think we have that nailed down but I would love to hear your suggestions! We think we will use Audrey Maren if this ones a girl.

Thanks again!!!!

I personally like Ethan, I think that flows very well with the other names as well. But I do really like Dominik too!!!

Good luck, I am in a situation similar to yours, except my husband doesn't like anything!!!

I was going to suggest Ethan and then read your other childrens names. There is no question in my mind now. I love Ethan, Eva and Erik! Jules
