How about Harry?

Hi! We just found out that we are pregnant with our fourth child. We are definitely hoping for a boy as we already have three girls. Our last name is Potter. Would it be cruel to name the baby, if a boy, Harry?

I love the name Harry, and I don't think books get much better than the Harry Potter series. That being said, I don't think it would be cruel exactly to name your child Harry (the character in the book is a wonderful hero), but I don't think it would wise. It would be an awful lot to live up to, and it would difficult for most people to disassociate your child Harry Potter with the books, movies, toys, etc. I think your child should have a name that is distinctly his (or hers) and not have to share with a multi-media phenomenon and household word. That's my perspective, for whatever it's worth.

Very cruel. I like the name Harry, too. I know a boy named Austin Stowers (way before the movie). Good luck. How bout James.
