Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I'm Elaine and I stay in South Africa. I am currently in a relationship, but not TTC or pregnant, just love names.

I'd love to get to know everyone here, so please drop a post and introduce yourself, your SO and your children and/or furbabies :o)

How about we also list our top 5 or so names for a boy and for a girl? Or maybe your current choices for your baby?

Mine favourites are: Elizabeth, Gemma, Tessa, Keira and Erin for a girl and Christopher, Connor, Matthew, Thomas and

Kristen, Matt, Michigan...Cleo-the-Cat and Penn (2.5 years)...and I like unusual names. Not unique, not fabricated...but the kind hardly anyone uses but that have history and meaning behind them. So I realize some of what I might list might seem too simple or abrupt or old-fashioned or something (I've heard it all but I'm seriously pretty comfortable in my own naming skin.) For boys, right now: Hale, Ford, Abel, Fox and Bram. For girls, I keep my top pick to myself. Otherwise: Dove, Fern, March, Averil (after my neurologist, oddly enough) and Adair.

Hi Melissa,

Nice to "meet" you :o)

I love name Gwendolyn, Adele, Evelyn and Mae from your list! My aunt is named Adelle and I went to school with an Adele. It's a nice, different name - underused. I love that they are family names :o)

I also have William on my list :o) My boyfriend's brothe is John, as is my uncle, so we could never use that.

Anyway...thank you for saying hi!

Elaine

Hi Donna,

Sorry about that - didn't realise you do one in the middle of the year!

I love your children's names! I'd love to be able to use Alexandra but it's my cousin's name, as is Jason. Love Samantha and Gabriella :o)

I also love Juliet, Francesca, Phoebe and Penelope - all on my list.

Jett is nice - haven't heard that! :o)

You could always go with Tatum (TAYE-tum) or Tegan (TAY-gin). Just a thought! If you start a thread, I'm sure you will get more ideas.

Welcome to the board!

I am Liz, married to David; we're both turning 25 soon. We won't be TTC for a year or so, but we are busy w/ our furbabies Phoebe and Sheba, and thinking of names for our future kids!

My favorite girls' names: Evelyn, Gwyneth, Helena, Corinne, Genevieve

Boys are a lot harder for us. The only ones we agree on and both like are Liam and Jude. At least we have a while to think!
