It's a boy name the DH and I MIGHT agree on....How common is it in your area?
We are re-locating to the midwest; I think it's more common there. What do you think?

Thanks!

I hear Owen a lot online and see it occasionally in birth announcements, but I actually know only one (he's about 4). I'm in PA, btw. My dh is from IL, about an hour outside of Chicago, and we don't know of a single Owen among his family or friends' children.

There are a few similar names that aren't quite as popular, of course -- Oran or Ewan/Euan, for example. If you both like Owen but popularity's a concern, one of these might appeal.

I am a teacher in Los Angeles and have children in Elementary and Middle. I have not taught any Owens and my children don't know any Owens. My son thinks there might be one in kindergarten. I like the name.

It was ranked #60 in 2005 which isn't too bad, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm in the midwest and I know of four Owen's. One is around 4, and the other three are 2 and under. I have a friend who was planning on using this name, but has scraped it becuase two other people in our circle used it (those two are included in my 4 total Owens).

I live in the NW, and I don't think it's popular here at all.
