Madeline Alexandra nn Maisy.

Few questions....
Which spelling of Madeline/Madeleine/Madelaine?
Does the nn work?
Is the name just too terribly popular?

Big sis would be Charlotte MacKenzie nn Charley. (mns are family names)

Hi there.

I love Madeline nn Maisy! Okay, I prefer Maisie, but it's close enough. Madeline & Charlotte called Charley & Maisy are very cute for sisters. And if you couldn't tell, I definitly prefer Madeline. It's the most simple way to get the Mad-uh-line pronouncation, if that's what you're going for.

Hope this helps!

I think it sounds very nice and goes well with Charlotte. The name is popular, but it's more the similarity to Madison and the nn Maddy that makes it popular. Maisy is really cute and I love that as a nn for it. My favourite spelling is Madeline. I think it is the simplest and easiest spelling. With the Madelaine spelling, I would pronounce it "made-uh-LANE", so I would be careful using that spelling.

How does it sound/Is it too popular?
*****The name sounds fine, and I think you're safe popularity-wise since you don't plan on calling her Maddie like all the others. I'd be more concerned about Alexandra being very overused as a mn, especially, but since it's a family name that's not such a big deal.

Which spelling of Madeline/Madeleine/Madelaine?
*****Totally depends on which pronunciation you'd like. They're not identical, after all. ;)

Madeline = mad-e-LINE (like the word line) or mad-e-LEEN
Madeleine = ma-de-LEN (short E)
Madelaine = mad-e-LANE

Does the nn work?
*****Yes, though I generally prefer Maggie as a nn for forms of Magdalene (just makes sense to me, since I mentally equate them with its Mag- beginning). If you go with Maisie, I would use this more common/familiar spelling. Changing it to a Y kind of makes it seem you felt it had to match "Charley" for some reason.

Charlotte and Madeleine/Madeline, etc. are wonderful for sisters, btw. ;)

I like Madeline best.

I think the nn works.

The name IS terribly popular but it's not a big deal, IMO, if you're going to call her Maisy.

Great choice! Personally, I prefer Madeleine (mad-a-len) in general, and especially with Charlotte, since they are both French.

It's a very nice name, and I like Maisy, also.

I would pronounce:
Madeline as MAD-a-line (rhymes with pine),
Madeleine as MAD-a-len, and
Madelaine as MAD-a-lane (rhymes with rain).

So I guess it depends how you want to pronounce her name. I like Madeleine best, but that's just me.

I've heard Madeline pronounced both MAD-a-lynn or MAD-a-line (second rhymes with pine) about equally.

I've heard Madeleine pronounced mostly as MAD-a-len (rhymes with ben),
