How popular is the name Meghan?
I've always loved the name since I was a teenager and always thought I'd name a little girl this. I'm afraid it's too popular and not unique enough for me. WDYT? Is Logan and Meghan too rhymey?
Terra.

and i dont think is too rhymey with Logan. sounds good together!
and the h in Meghan differenciates from Logan so well!
I'm going to tell you a story that I've posted here a few times over the years.
My friend had always wanted to name a DD Megan. It was her favorite name in the world. In 1995 was pg with a girl and was having a planned c/s. The day before the c/s she was in a children's clothing store. She heard THREE different woman calling their DDs "Megan." She panicked. The last thing in the world that she wanted was to have her DD have a popular name.
So she went home an pulled out a baby name book that she bought when she was pg with her son. She had to have an "M" name and pored over that section of the book. She wanted a name with a nice sound, with a cute NN and one that her daughter wouldn't be one of many in the classroom. The name she chose was Madison! Of course the rest is history. The funny thing is that her daughter has never been in class with a Megan.
I have an almost 9 year old Abigail/Abby and knew of no others when we picked out the name. Of course from reading this board for years now I can see trends and would avoid them (e.g. Aiden, Caden/Kaden, Brayden, Jaden, Hayden). I haven't noticed any Megan/Meghan trends though and think you're "safe".
I don't think they are too rhymey at all! Meghan was extremely popular around here about 10-12 years ago (had several friends-of-friends who had their kids young and it seemed they all named their daughters Meghan!) but I think I have only known 1 Meghan in the past few years.

The only Megan I know is my cousin, who will be 15 soon. I know my little brother also had one or two in various classes growing up (he's almost 22 now), so I'd say it's a name that WAS popular, but not so much anymore (so unless you mind running into teens/young women with the name I don't think it's a problem). I think Meghan was a lot more popular 15-20 years ago. My 2-year-old is Megan, and we haven't met any other toddlers/preschoolers with the same name.
Logan and Meghan are a little rhymey, but not bad. I think that's a personal call as to how much it would bother you.
