How would you classify Lauren?

I tend to like classic names (Katherine, Caroline, etc.) and although I don't particularly love Laura, I do like Lauren. Just wondering if this is considered a classic due to it's spin-off of Laura or if it's just a regular ol' trendy name of the 90's.
This is for a mn, so I'm not concerned with popluarity at all - it goes well with the first name we are thinking of using. But, I would like to use a classic name for the mn since the fn is slightly different and a classic mn would neutralize it.
Thanks.

Imo, Laura is the classic and Lauren is the "Laura spinoff with a 90s twist." It's still a beautiful name, and I think it makes a terrific middle name.

Well, I tend to think of it as both, it's a 90's spin-off, but it also has a classy feel to it and doesn't feel some of the other names of that time period. I think especially as a middle name it's lovely.

I see Lauren as a classy name. Some names that have the same feel (to me) are: Caroline, Julia, Charlotte, Miranda, and Anne.

I don't think of Lauren as a classic in the same group with Katherine, Elizabeth, etc.
