I love the name Draven for a boy or a girl. If its a girl I would spell it Dravin. But my husband thinks its to 'dark'. I only have one friend that likes it but that shouldnt matter as long as my and dh agree. Now he wanted his name carried on with our first. So we did our son has dh fn as his mn. I dont want to carry my name on becasue its too common, so should I have some extra pull? now the middle name for a girl is set 'Elizabeth' which is dh sisters name, so once again should i have a more to say?

I could see it for a boy but it's not my style at all
I think it's very dark - reminds me of the word "craven."
I do like Raven for a girl, but only if she has dark hair.
AJ, enjoying life with C.
Draven makes me think of Eric Draven from "The Crow," so I have to agree with your husband. It's extremely dark. Imo, it may be too dark for either boy or girl.
Ideally, I think moms and dads should have equal pull when it comes to naming children. If you don't want your daughter's mn to be Elizabeth, don't agree to it.
My first impression was Draco-meets-Craven, so I guess I see it as a bit dark, on the one hand, and suggestive of fear, on the other. For that reason, this is not a name I would consider for a child.
You should have at least as much influence over the name choice as your husband, so if you don't want to use a certain name, it should not be used, period, in my opinion.
I think that your husband should be able to veto any name. I'd suggest you make a list of 10 names or so and let him pick the one's he likes.
I agree with your husband that Draven is too dark.
