Hubby wants opinion on his favorite name

One of my hubby's favorite movies is Silverado where his favorite character's name is Payden. He wanted to name our first son that and I refused and then he wanted to name our second son that and I refused. Well, here we are again thinking of names and of course if it's a boy he still wants to use the name Payden. Our two boys names are Dawson & Ethan and I want another name with two syllables that ends with an 'n'. Of course Payden works but my favorite so far is Owen. Please give me your honest opinion about each name. My husband thinks I'm the only one in the world who wouldn't like Payden. Is he right?

Thank you for your time!

I know a Paden, and because of that, it seems like a regular boys' name to me. I think taking the "y" out separates it a little more from Payton and Peyton, since they are becoming so popular for girls.

I don't like it. Owen is sweet & fits with your other boys names well. Can you get a pet & names it Payden :p

Too much teasing potential. Sounds like "paid in" as in "paid in full".

I really like the name Payden! I think it sounds great with your other sons names, and I also like the other suggestion "Paden". I think it'd be special for your son to be named a name thats meaningful to his dad. Hey- it could be worse and your dh could be running through all the Pro sports names- my dh suggested "Chone" prn Shawn. ICKKKK> Give me a break. lol

Maybe someone already suggested this (I haven't looked at all the responses), but how about Hayden? This is a nice name and it's close to the name that your husband loves. A good compromise if you like it!

I've always liked the name Hayden too but right after the baby is born I'm moving and will be right across the street from the city of Hayden Idaho. I think people here probably only see it as a city name. Thanks for your input!

OK I love the name Payden in fact my youngest is Tadyn --very close to the same. My dh's best friend just named their baby Payden. I think Payden Owen sounds good.
