Hubby wants opinion on his favorite name

One of my hubby's favorite movies is Silverado where his favorite character's name is Payden. He wanted to name our first son that and I refused and then he wanted to name our second son that and I refused. Well, here we are again thinking of names and of course if it's a boy he still wants to use the name Payden. Our two boys names are Dawson & Ethan and I want another name with two syllables that ends with an 'n'. Of course Payden works but my favorite so far is Owen. Please give me your honest opinion about each name. My husband thinks I'm the only one in the world who wouldn't like Payden. Is he right?

Thank you for your time!

I actually like the name. I've never heard of it before, and you wouldn't have to worry about another child in his class having the same name. Also, it obviously means alot to your husband to use the name, since he wanted to use it the first and second time, maybe you should consider it, unless it absolutely repulses you, but in my opinion, I like it. At least he doesn't want to name it after liquer, like my husband does. He says if we have a boy, he wants to name it Johnny Walker, so it could be worse.

I also think Owen sounds better with your other sons' names. Good luck!!!

I'd like to see the results in a poll form too. The suggestion about changing the spelling to Paden does make it seem more masculine to me. Paden Owen could be a great compromise if you were willing. When are you due?

how about Payden as the MN? also, isnt Payton other character in dawson's creek? only watched that show maybe 5x but remember his name, may not want that much sililarity to that show already having Dawson.

Owen Payden?

i shouldve looked first, i'm mistaken was Pacey. i'm sorry. in that case, i go with

Payden or Payton

..and Payton is Walter Payton's lastname, formerly with chicago bears..another namesake for Payden/Payton ..and yeah, hubby deserves a name he loves.

btw Owen is getting common at same time not popular, movies..Owen Wilson. also, was a guy in my highschool, Owen, noone mistook his name.

Payden is not a name I would ever use (I like traditional names) but I think it does go well with the other boys names. Plus I think there will be a lot of Owens around. If you read this board everyone seems to have Owen on the list of names they like. I know two people in the last year that have named their sons Owen.
