I am having a boy. I want to know why so many people dislike it? I like J or D names that end in n. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Also why is there so much negative opinion about this name?
Do you know a lot of Jaden's? I don't know anyone.

Thanks a lot

I have heard it as a girls' name. Maybe you are encountering negativity because your son might have a female Jaden in his class. It would be shortened to Jade, also a girls' name.

One of my nieces named her son Jacan, which is a biblical name (although I don't know where it occurs in the bible), and can be shortened to Jake.

I also love that name but i picked it out for a girl. We found out yesterday that we are having a boy so I'm saving it. It is a boy or a girl's name though. Will and Jada Smith named their son Jaden. Hope this helps!

I personally wouldn't use the name Jaden for a boy because it sounds a little too feminine to me. The first name that comes to mind that starts witha J of D and ends in N is Dalton, which I have always liked.

I like that name too another name that begins with J and ends with N is Justin. I like J names too and I might name my son Justin or Jacob.
Good Luck

Hayden was on our boy list with our son in 93, but "religion" won out and we named him Benjamin.

I am glad, in retrospect, that we didn't name him Hayden or Ian, the other name we played with. Ian also falls in with the other "ADEN" names that are taking over. (Even though Hayden IS a legitimate name and I LOVE it..it was unique then, though)

When I hear the name Jaden I think of it more as a girl's name....I don't like those names that can go both ways...especially trendy ones.

BTW, I met a girl in college named Caitlyn and I thought it was a positively lovely name : )
