girl's name, but I knew a guy named Kendall when I was growing up. I'm thinking about naming our son Kendall, but don't want him to be associated with a girl's name. Is it too feminine now? What's your opinion?

The only person I've known with that name was was a boy so my first thought is boy. But I think there are a lot more girls with that name. Maybe something that begins the same like Kendrick instead of Kendall.

My son has a friend (boy) named Kendall and I have a great friend who has a daughter named Kendall. It can really go either way.

I personally think it's too "girl associated" now

The only Kendalls I have ever known were male, of course none of them were born in the last decade. It looks like it might be taken over by the girls, but I think that there are enough male Kendall's being born that you could use it and be fine. Funny, I love this name for a boy , but HATE it on a little girl.

I like it for a girl - my dh didn't though - he said it reminded him of Barbie -- I was like what??? I figured out that he thinks of "Ken Doll" when he hears it - - oh well I think it is a very cute name and really could be a boys name too.

Girl -- Kyndall.

Boy -- Kendall.

Appropriate for either!

I know two Kendalls and both are boys (one age 10 and one age 5). Both boys are very athletic and don't seem to mind their names at all.

I don't know any female Kendalls, but I do know it's popular for girls.
