I must name our baby with an "M" name

We aren't going to find out the sex of the baby. We either like two strong names or two unique names. What do you think?

MaKaleigh (Girl)
McKauley (Boy)

OR

Matthew
Madeline

Should we do something different or something standard or do you have suggestions on any neat "M" names?

I think your boy names are fine, and I love Madeline but I am not sure about one of the girl names......MaKaleigh is not my favorite. Caylee, Kaylee, Kaylie however you choose to spell it is not that unique and I really don't like the Ma in front of it. Doesn't flow to me. But that is just my opinion and I could be way off base. Besides, choose a name that you both love and it will mean the most!

Sorry but I have to agree with the pp - MaKaleigh is not unique. I'm not saying that it's bad, but since you specifically said you are looking for something unique, I have to warn you that not only does MaKaleigh not feel unique because of the Kaylie/Caley/Kiley/etc names category that it falls into, it ALSO falls into the Makayla/Michaela/Makenzie/McWhatever category. I really like a lot of the Mc names, especially Michaela, McKenna, and Mackenzie. But they are very popular (as a group if not individually). When I saw it, my first thought was not, "Oh what a pretty, unique name." (Which I'm sure it what you are looking for) it was "Wow, another spelling variation on Michaela/Kaylie, I though I had seem them all."

McKauly is not a favorite of mine only because it reminds me of Macauly Culkin. Aside from that somewhat random reference, I like it just fine.

Matthew is a nice classic name. I've always liked it.

Madeline is possibly my favorite name of all time. I've wanted to have a daughter named Madeline since I was about ten years old.

Other M names you might like ...

Very honest first impressions:

Matthew or Madeline - well-educated, thoughtful parents

MaKaleigh or McKauley - young parents driven by trends who aren't thinking about how these names will come across when their child is a grown-up with a possible serious career.

The only "M" suggestion I have that hasn't been suggested for a girl is Mari or Maree. I love that name. I like Madeline better than Mckayleigh & Matthew over Mckauley.
