How about just Shae as a name? Shaylee is NMS, I don't feel it will grow well with her as she ages. Doesn't pass the "Superior Court Judge" test.

What about Shannon, Sinead, or Sheena?

Personally, I would not use Shaylee because to me (and this is just an opinion), it seems too juvenile - very cute for a baby or toddler, maybe OK for a grade schooler, but not for an adult. If I loved Shaylee, I would use Shay as the first name and Lee as the middle name (or even not use Lee as a middle name, but simply name her Shay and call her Shaylee for a nickname).

I find Shaylee WAY too cutesy and would not recommend using it. I mean, can you picture it on anyone over age 9? I can't. My name is Nikki, which is fairly common for my generation, and I find even that is too juvenile. I am not comfortable putting Nikki on a resume as I don't think it is very professional. Shaylee is even less professional. I know it is hard to consider this for your baby's name, but she will be an adult for longer than she will be a baby and Shaylee just does not work for a teeanger or adult.

Not only is it too cutesy, but it also falls under the "aylee" trend. Here are some names that are in this trend and their popularity according to the SSA lists (http://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/popularnames.cgi) for 2006:
Shaylee- 788
Kaylee- 42
Kailey- 257
Kaleigh- 488 (I have also seen Kaylea, although its not in the top 100)
Haylee- 247
Hailey- 25
Haleigh- 596
Baylee- 469
Bailey- 112, 635 for boys
Jaylee- 818

So, as you can see, it will just get lumped in with the other trendy, often misspelled names.

I like the suggestion of Shea for you (can also be spelt Shay, but I think Shea is more feminine looking). It is 893 on the SSA list, so not very popular at all, and the Shay spelling is not in the top 1000.

Thanks for the ideas. I will look around on the posts.

Julia and Rachel (Rachelle) are my sisters-in-law so those names are taken. Shannon was my ex-husband's name. :-0 and Monica reminds me of Lewinksy, ;-(. But thanks for your help.

I like the name "River". Is that a boy or girl? Thanks for your suggestions.
