My Husband and I are having a hard time agreeing on girl names. I like really cute, Feminine, girly girl names. I dont like names that are overyly popular either. I kind of go for the unique touch. The only name we both like so far is Alexandria but I would like to have some more options. We dont even know what we are having yet! Thanks for your help!

surprisingly, I feel that Alexandria goes against all of your criteria: Alexandra - without that i near the end - is overly popular, about 3/4 of them go by the nickname Alex and the other 1/4th by the nickname Allie. also, I don't see any of the forms of names that begin with Alex as being feminine at all.

here are some that I think fit your criteria, unique touch, not popular to the point of being trendy, and feminine

Amber, Aubrey, Brielle, Belinda, Courtney, Chloe, Carly, Delaney, Danika, Dannah, Erica, Elise, Gisele, Heidi, Hilary, Janna, Jocelyn, Jillian, Johanna, Kelsey, Kianna, Karissa, Larissa or Larisa, Lianna, Marissa, Mallory, Natasha, Rayna, Rhiannon, Sabrina, Sienna, Teegan or Taegan, Torri, Tonya, Tasha.

good luck

Our 1st DD is Liliana-- she calls herself Lili, although most of her friends/relatives call her by her full name.

Here are some other ideas:
Gabrielle, Ariana, Isabelle (popular, but feminine), Corinna, Lucia, Adrienne....

Good luck!

Congrats on your pregnancy!Agreeing on our two daughter's names took forever! My husband likes more traditional names, Sara,Mary, and Anna. I like names like Isabella,Sophia, etc. Compromise is the key for you both to be happy. Maybe you can pick the first name you love and let him select the middle name. For our older daughter we took a different aproach to a traditional name. We used the frech variation of Elizabeth, Elise. It fit both of our tastes and we fell in love with it! How about Macy or Riley? Good luck and keep us posted when you decide!

Our DDs are Megan and Julianna, and I love both names!

Megan is definitely more popular than Julianna, but it's less popular than it was 15-20 years ago, so I don't think there will be 8 Megans in her class (maybe 2 or 3 ;-) ). We call her Meg, which I think is very cute, too.

One thing that I loved about Julianna was that it has so many potential nicknames, some girlier than others, so she has options when she's older. We're calling her Annie while she's little, but when she's older, she may be Julia, Julie, Anna, Ann, Lianna, Lianne, or Julianna. We'll see what she grows into.

Some other girly names that I think might meet your criteria: Elena, Ava/Eva, Eliza, Lydia, Delaney, Victoria, and Cassandra.

BTW, I think Alexandria is very pretty, too, and as a nn, she could go by Alex, Allie, Lexie, or Xan (pronounced Zan).

Good luck whatever you decide!

Hi - I am also on the name hunt. We have our girl, so we are looking for boy names.... When I was working on girl names, i found that the spelling was just as important to me in making the name special and unique. We named our daughter Ahna Mae. I like anna, but was afraid it would be mis-pronounced as ana, so Ah-na worked., so I changed the spelling. I could have 20 girls and never run out of names and ideas. Khale, Corrin or corryn, Kayda, Danah, Leigh, Larin (also lauren, laryn, Lorin, Loryn...) I met a boy named River, and a girl named skie, Austyn (f), Kelsy, Ashley,....hope it helps! Have any suggestions for pairing a name with Leland or Hazen?? (family names).....LOL
