I'm a member of the March 05 expecting club and I really need help with names.
Kylyn Allyse Simpson - All the ys makes it look a little weird. And speaking as someone who has lots of letters below the line (Peggy) I can tell you it isn't fun to write out. I would use the spelling Kylin. Is Allyse pronounced Alice or Elise? I'd just stick with the traditional spelling for whichever is the right pronounciation. The name flows nicely though in terms of pronounciation with either Alice or Elise as the mn.
Payton Leslie - yep. sounds like two girly names to me too. You need a masculine fn.
Caden Leslie - The aden names are popular. Maybe Cade Leslie??
Brady Leslie - I like this one very cute
Brecken Leslie - I like this one too but a little less then Brady
Braden Leslie - Ditto on the aden popularity
For the boys' names I like Braden nn Brady the best even though the "aden" names are very popular. My second choice is Brecken. Payton is too girly with Leslie.
What about Bryton(Brighton), Broderick nn Brody or Brennan?
Best of luck,
Dana
Boys- Yes, I agree that Payton/Peyton is a bit feminine with Leslie.
Caden & Braden are really, really popular. Also, most baby name books suggest that the last letter of the first name and last name shouldn't be the same- Caden Simpson. I realize this is also the case with Kylan. But the l- softens the two n- sounds a little more.
The same would be true of Brecken. I LOVE this name, though. Brecken Leslie Simpson has a nice ring to it, even though now you have double n- sounds AND double short e- sounds, which is another rule, not to repeat the same vowel LOL. Which would be a problem with Brady Leslie, double long e- sounds! LOL Don't fret, though, because in the end, it all depends on what you LIKE and can live with. I didn't want to do double -n sounds with my son (our last name is Martin), but the only first name that dh and I both really loved ended in -n. So we went with it! Grantson Martin.
Here are some other choices I thought of based on the list you made-
Asher Leslie Simpson, Archer Leslie Simpson, Gage Leslie Simpson, Colter Leslie Simpson, Rainer Leslie Simpson, *Calder (call-der) Leslie Simpson*, Talbot Leslie Simpson, Calvert Leslie Simpson, Jared Leslie Simpson, Tanner Leslie Simpson, Ridge Leslie Simpson, Turner Leslie Simpson, Ander Leslie Simpson, the following is double n's but I love the way the whole name sounds- Brogan Leslie Simpson. I also like Dane Leslie Simpson, after you.
Here are two that have the short e- sound, but I still like them- Trevor Leslie Simpson, Beckett Leslie Simpson
Another option to really make Leslie more masculine is a very traditional first name that has a hip, more trendy nn- Patrick Leslie Simpson (Pate), Andrew Leslie Simpson (Drew), Richard Leslie Simpson (Ridge)
Or just a cool, short, very boyish name- Jack Leslie Simpson, Jake Leslie Simpson, Rafe Leslie Simpson, Rhett Leslie Simpson, Blake Leslie Simpson, Brent Leslie Simpson, Chet Leslie Simpson
One other option is to make Leslie the first name and call him by his mn--- Leslie Ames Simpson, Leslie Drake Simpson, Leslie Brandt Simpson, Leslie Burke Simpson, Leslie Cade Simpson, Leslie Hunt Simpson, Leslie Nash Simpson, Leslie Daniel Simpson (After you again, Dane for nn)
And I saved the best for last- I really like Carter Leslie Simpson.
These are my thoughts for now. Keep us posted, Ginger
Thanks for all of the input-I really have a lot to bring to DH now!
