I'm back.......

Yep, I just found out that we are pregnant......again. Our little one just turned one mid-March!! And yes, this was quiet the surprise for us. (We did want a 4th child, just not this close!) We have 3 boys: Brendan who is 5, Aaron who is 3, and Joshua who is 1.

I am VERY early in the pregnancy but I just wanted to see what suggestions for names that anyone out there has for us. I am looking for boys names, since if we have another boy, picking a 4th name will be the hardest yet! I think I would like the middle name to be Joseph, which is my Dad's middle name.

So let me know any suggestions. The names that we can't use are: Matthew, Johnny, Justin, Benjamin, Bradley, Noah, Gabriel, Nicholas, Sheldon, Shane, Stephen.

Thanks!

My first thought was Seth.

Here are some more:
Elijah
Ryan
Simon
Gavin

Hmm...the fourth boy name is tricky! I will think of some more later :)

Congrats,
Brooke

Early congrats, Theresa!!! I can't believe Joshua is one already (though I can't believe Abigail almost is either ... her party is on Easter so the in-laws can come LOL). Will this be an even closer spacing than Brendan and Aaron were? I'll bet that WAS a surprise. ;)

I can see something with Biblical/Christian ties like Aaron and Joshua -- Simon, Oliver (olive branch/tree, Mount of Olives, etc.), Caleb, Calvin (John Calvin), Gabriel, Elias/Elliott -- or something with a bit of an Irish type feel like Brendan -- Owen, Nolan, Declan, Donovan or Cameron (think you could convince dh this time, since you compromised last time? ) -- with your boys.

Or even one that does double-duty, so to speak (Irishy and Biblical):

Ian/Sean/Evan

Malachi/Malachy (mal-a-kee for the Irish name)

Cillian - related to cill/ceall, meaning church

Deacon

Dara/Darragh - I know it might seem odd coming from me, given it's my sister's name, but this originated as both a male Old Testament name and Anglicization of the male Irish name Daire (and/or the Gaelic word dara), and is a top 20 boy name in Ireland, so it works. I actually kind of like that it's a masculine name that happens to end in the "a" sound, like Joshua, especially since Brendan and Aaron are both Ns. ;)

Milo - can mean "devotee of Mary" (from Gaelic maol Muire), or taken as a form of Miles, itself often considered to stem from Michael

Phineas, nn Finn ;)

Tavish - Scottish form of Thomas

Just some ideas. Congratulations again. So excited for you!

Yes, this was QUITE the shock. I just quit nursing 3 months ago and we were careful (at least we thought we were!) Brendan was 10 months old when I got pregnant with Aaron, and Joshua must had JUST turned a year when I got pregnant this time. I think I am due at the middle-end of December, so when this baby is born, the ages will be 5, 4, 1, and a newborn. AHHHH! I've had the labs drawn to confirm but that was by a lab facility and I have yet to call to make any appointments. We have moved since we had Joshua so I need a new ob/gyn. Plus I am a full-time nursing student so this throws everthing into a tizzy. I can't tell you how SHOCKED both DH and I were about this. BUT, we both knew we wanted another baby after Joshua, we just thought it would be another year or two before we even tried to get pregnant!

How are all the girls?? I haven't even considered the possibility of having a girl at this point.

Out of your name suggestions, I really like Caleb and Cameron (of course!), Owen, and Nolan......it seems silly of me to even be thinking about names already, but I think the whole process is so much fun!

My Gosh! I read your first thought and its funny because Seth was one of the final 2 names we had picked out for boy#3 (Joshua). I love the name Ryan, but that's Dh's name so we can't use that (already used it as a middle name for the oldest boy.) But I LOVE LOVE Elijah. It was a name that I wasn't fond of years ago, but it has grown on me since then.

Thanks!

The girls are great. Kate's nearing the end of her first year of school and Devanie's just been busy being a 2-year-old (she's our little enforcer, constantly repeating whatever we tell Kate to do or talking in a Mommy voice to Aila LOL). And as you already know, Abigail's about to turn one and has been pulling up and cruising around holding onto everything in site (even letting go when she's feeling gutsy). We've tried not to encourage it too much until now ... didn't want another one walking at nine months when we've got two others to chase around. LOL I'm sure you know how that is. ;)

And I completely understand what a shock -- though a welcome one -- this must be. I was still exclusively nursing Devanie when we found out we were expecting again. And she was only around six months old at the time. ;) Funny thing was, I had the prescription to go back on the mini-pill right in the diaper bag. We were going to fill it once she was six months old (it's just something for the memory book now ).

I still love Caleb and Cameron for you, and could totally see a little Owen or Nolan added to your bunch. ;) And I know what you mean about the seeming impossibility of a girl. I have a dozen or so boy names I love, but the girl list seems much more pressing for if and when we end up with a fourth. Just based on past experience, KWIM? Plus, with three of one gender already, I suppose it's a bit harder to find just the right name for another of the same, whereas the first girl/boy seems a bit more open style and sound wise.

Anyway, sorry for the threadjack, but it's great to "see" you again. Glad to hear the great, unexpected news (and you know it's NEVER too early to be thinking about names LOL).
