What is your name/DH/DD/DS name, etc?
Have you ever had any difficulty with it, for e.g. people saying or spelling it wrong?
Just thought it'd be fun to see other people's names, and it also might help someone considering that name!
I'll go first...
My name is Elaine, and, generally, I haven't had many problems. A few people have thought my name's Laine, and others have thought its Melaine, and one teacher was adamant my name was Eliane (Elly-Anne) and kept telling me I was spelling it wrong! :) As far as spelling goes - mostly spelt correctly, a few Elane and Elain by nothing drastic.
My family (as I am not married, so no DH, DS, DD):
mom: Heather - rarely spelt or said wrong.
sister: Catherine: seldom said wrong, people tried nn to Cathy which she hated, some spelling problems - Kathrine, Cathryn, etc, but mostly spelt correctly.
my dad: His name is a family name - Genard (JEN-hard). He's forever having to spell and pronounce it!! But - it is different and memorable, and we haven't met another so far! :)
Interesting to see your own name thoughts...

My brother was Thomas, but he died at the age of 5. He was called Thomas and never Tom or Tommy.
My sister is Juliet and goes by Jules most of the time. She has two daughters, one is Laura and the other is Olivia. Olivia goes by Ollie.
My DH's name is Frederick, but he is called Freddie most of the time.
My mom is Clara.
My children are Audrey, Eloise, Peter and Sarah (Sallie).
DF: Ian. I love his name, but he doesn't like it because people have a hard time pronouncing and spelling it. My great grandmother keeps calling him "E on."
no children yet.
The only negative comments I've received are from my ILs. This makes me laugh (an evil laugh) My DH, Michael found and chose Lilybet's name. He wanted to honor his Aunt Betty, but we didn't like the actual name Betty. He loved the uniqueness of Lilibet (the orginal spelling we found in a baby name book) but wanted to call her Lily. So, we tweaked the spelling to Lilybet. Michael's Momma actually went so far as to say she hoped he changed his mind before the birth. Of course, this was the same woman who threw a fit over the name Abigail...she shut up when I went from Abigail to Isabella. I think she was afraid I'd get even worse. Michael's family call her Lily...nothing more. Of course, I might add this a family w/common names like: Michael, Tracey, Christopher, Timothy, Jaime...
Didn't mean to write a novel...*blushing* Thanks for your interest in the name! Most people find it to sound medieval. We used a castle theme for the nursery!
Help or hinder?
Good luck finding that perfect name!
Amy~Mom to Patrisha Louise, Isabella Ruth & Lilybet Rhian; ages 12.5, 9 & 17mos
DH Patrick nn Pat, no problems except for some reason our town thinks his name is Patrice so our tax statments say Patrice. LOL!
DD #1, 7 y/o Jaclyn Kay. Sometimes people spell her name Jacklyn or Jaqueline, but for the most part they get it right. I usually spell it for people the first time so they know. The worst thing is people take it upon themselves to call her Jackie which she and I can't stand. However, we knew that was a possibility when we named her, but we loved the name so much we went with it anyway. No problem with mn.
DD #2 3.5 y/o Alysa Marie. One time someone called her A-lee-sah instead of A-lih-sah. I do spell it for people since if I didn't they would probably spell it Alyssa. Sometimes people will spell it wrong anyway. No problem with mn.
My sister, Karyn. She is named after my mom Kathryn. They just took the "th" out. She has had her name mispelled ALL THE TIME! They always spell it Karen. Even where she works now, even though people know her, they still spell it wrong. It really bugs her.
