Is it a girl's name or a boy's name?

Okay, my husband and I are having the typical "we can't agree on a name" disagreement. We're having a girl. He likes the name Rebecca, and I like the name Aidan. I found the name Aidan in two different baby name books, and both of them list it as a girl's name (of course it is spelled differently, but I think that the spelling Aidan is more girly). The problem is that most of the sites online list it as a boy's name. We're now talking about naming her Aidan Rebecca, and most people I have talked to like the sound of the two together. What does anyone else think?

I love both names; unfortunately, Rebecca for a girl and Aidan for a boy. I can't see Aidan for a girl, personally, BUT if you do decide to use Aidan for your daughter's name, please spell it the common way. Putting a y in there doesn't make it look more feminine; it just looks like it's spelled wrong. JMHO
edited because I see that you have made a final decision. If you are going to use Aidan for your daughter, I am glad you are spelling it the way you are.
Congratulations and here's to a happy and healthy baby girl :)
I've never heard of any of these names used for a female!
James, Baxter, Elliot
Oh they are popping up from time to time, just look at the
I think it is most definitely a boys name. I don't like it on a girl at all. Sorry.
