I am currently 25wks pregnant and do not know the sex, I'm thinking I want to honor my grandparents in the name of the baby either as a first or middle name, my grandmothera name is Miriam, I love some old fashioned names but do you think Miriam is abit too old fashioned for a little girl these days? I'm trying to think ahead as she grows will she like the name when she's a teenager for example

thanks for your help x

I think Miriam is fabulous!  It seems more of a timeless name rather than simply old fashioned, actually.   It is familiar but not common.  It's easy to say and spell.  It does a nice job of "fitting in and standing out".  It sounds cute, and will age well.  Lots of cute nickname potential, also.  The best part is that you can honor your grandparents with it.  I love it!

Oh, no.  I don't think it's too old-fashioned at all!  (And it can have the peppy nickname of Miri if she feels like it's too serious when she's a teen.)

Thanks for your comments, I also thought maybe Mirabelle but my mum thinks it's abit too Disney characterish and should just stick with Miriam? x

Oh, I think it's a lovely name that has retained its popularity over time -- go for it!  I think Mimi is a cute nickname too.  Alternatively, you could always use Mary.  Good luck!
