I considered this name. Would you pronounce Cass'-ee-uh or Cash-uh?

Dahlia is lovely, but it's a floral name from a Swedish botanist, so my vote went to Cassia. ;)

I know not all the names are of Italian origin, especially Dahlia. Cassia is Greek, Oriana is Latin, but all of them I believe are much more commonly given in Italy and go well with a seriously Italian last name. Plus they all appear in the truly Italian baby name book I bought in Italy on our honeymoon so they count :)

I think Giovanna is really pretty. I love the nickname Gia too if you are for nicknames. I also like Oriana and Dahlia from your list.

I voted for Giovanna from your list as I think it's the prettiest. i was born and raised in southern Italy, one of my favorites has always been Lucianna. You can say it the traditional Italian way Lu-Cha-na, or say it more Americanized Lucy-on-a. Either was is gorgeous. Hope that helps at all.

Ooh. Those are nice names. I like them ^_^ I liked Cassia (the only Cassia I ever knew pronounced her name CASH-uh) and Simona best.
