I just had my ultrasound this morning...The ultrasound tech couldnt tell what it was because the baby had its leg bent up towards its privates...The dr. comes in and takes a look and says..."do you really want to know what it is?" I said yes...He said "well, save your receipts, but I see all girl parts..Congratulations.." Now, I have two boys at home and when I had their ultrasound they were definately able to tell it was a boy..they literally told me "its definately a boy"... Could I be pretty confident that this one is a girl? What do you think?

Congrats & Good Luck -

I have 3 dd. The doctor had no doubts that they were girls. So I'd say that there is a good chance for a girl, but there's still a chance for another boy.

the doctor probably wouldn't have said that much if he wasn't fairly certain - just do what he said and "save the receipts" from anything you buy - or your friends by for you, hopefully they will give you those "gift receipts"

This has nothing to do with anything, but when i was pg w/ Isla, I had 2 scans and in each she had her legs either crossed or bent, and there was a little competition going on between my ob/gyn and the scan technician, the ob/gyn who was convinced we were having a boy and the scan tech who thought it was a girl "because of how she looked and behaved" in utero. The scan technician actually came into my first post-partum appointment to gloat :P

My DH liked not knowing Isla's gender, but this time around we're having twins, which i think is surprise enough...but we'll see. That ultrasound won't be until the end of next month.

I think that your Dr. has probably been doing this long enough that he knows. I have 5 y-o twins and at my ultra sound they could definitely tell one was a girl and said that the other one was "most likely" a girl. Since I was having twins, I was blessed with a sonogram every month, and about 2 months later she had her legs where we could see and she was definitely a girl...so I'd say, trust your OB.
