It's much harder this time!

Hi all,

My name is Alex (Alexandra), my husband's name is Doug. We are expecting our 5th child at the end of May. We currently have 2 boys and 2 girls, and the U/S says that this next baby (the tie breaker ;-) will be a boy. My problem is that naming this child is proving so much harder than naming the previous children, for so many reasons!!
1) We have already used the family names that we wanted to honor (or my sisters have).
2) My other children are old enough to have strong (vocal) opinions about what to (and what NOT to) name this child.(And are old enough to have hurt feelings if we go with one's suggestion over anothers).
3) I am much older now (17 years older than wih my first) and I find that my taste is getting more and more conservative. I am really not interested in whimsical/ creative/ romantic/ or trendy names. I want a name that sounds strong, with a good historical namesake.
4) My husband's family (thus our LN) is very German, (though I usually lean towards Irish/Celtic names), and starts with a "Z", so any name ending in s, th, or x makes for a tongue twister.
Ok, all that being said our children are named
Eric Charles Richard (2 mn's, one for each grandfather, though he usually uses Richard)
Alaina Marie
Genevieve Elyse
and
Mark Douglas

Names we are currently considering:

Evan James (my DH amd IL's #1 choice, BUT is Evan to close to Eric??)
James Brody (or Broden or Broderick- with Brody as a NN)
William Spencer (my mom and daughter #2's pick)
Jack Spencer (eldest son and daughter's suggestion)
Kyle James
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
Alex

I guess it helps a little... but thank you very much for the information, that was something I did not know.

I have liked both the names Tristan and Christian for years, but our neighbors next door has two sons that my children play with daily, and their names are Tristan and Brady. (and their dog is named Cody- thus my DH's hesitation to use Brody- Brady+Cody??)
Luke is a possibility (though not on our short list right now) but not Lucas because as I said our last name starts with a Z and fns that end with s, x, or th, tend to blur imo.
But thank you again for the suggestions. (We need all the help we can get).
Alex
