This is a crosspost from the beyond the trends board so sorry if you're reading it again.

Our children will be the 4th generation of names starting with J, which means a lot of names have been 'taken'. I also grew up as the only one in my school with my name, and always loved it, whereas DH has an incredibly normal name and wished he wasn't one of 4 in his class. So we're looking for something a little different, but not way too 'out there'.

Is Jagger (for a boy) too attached to Mick Jagger? I barely know who he is, so I doubt our kids will know, or care. Is it too 'celebrity' of a name?

I think it is a bit too out there rather than just a little different.

Thanks for your input, however, as I said, they need to start with J.

I don't think that the Mick Jagger association is too strong per se, but I do see Jagger as a sort of celebrity-type trendy name that kind of says "i want my kid to be a cool rock'n roller". Almost seems like it's trying too hard in that vein. I hope that makes sense. What about Jasper, Jensen, Joaquin, Josiah, Jude, or Justice?

I'm sorry, after re-reading my post it sounded a little rude. I didn't intend it that way. I do like the names you suggested, especially Burke.

Yeah, I can see that point of view, Liz, thanks.

I do like Josiah, I also love Jonah, but DH isn't a fan.

Aw, that's so frustrating when DH shoots down a name you love! My DH is very picky, and I have at least 10 names that I could use on a little boy happily, but he hates most of them!

Yes, I immediately think of Mick Jagger. I'm only 31 and didn't grow up with the Rolling Stones but I think everyone knows who Mick Jagger is.

It reminds me of "Jaeger", as in Jaegermeister the drink.

Well, there is a hidden blessing in him being able to shoot down names I like...I can prevent him from naming our sons Jaxen, Jaden, Jaren, and Jasen!

That is a good thing, lol. My DH likes Logan and he actually once suggested Brendyn- yikes!
