Is Jamari fit for a boy name and does it sound too made up or weird.......I want honest opinions please, I only have until next week to agree with it or not. His father loves it he is the one who picked it out..........

If I saw the name Jamari on a school roster I would assume the child was African-American or maybe Indian (from India)

I agree. I think it's a great name with a nice sound, but IMO, it fits best on an African-American or possibly Asian or Indian child. Jamari brings to mind for me someone who is dark-skinned, tall, lean, athletic, intelligent, and friendly. It's really a very good image.

And he could always go by Jamar, Jamie, Jim, or even James if he wasn't thrilled with Jamari. You could also pair it with a more traditional middle name to give him that option if he wanted a more traditional name.

Good luck making a decision!
