According to CNN, Julia Roberts and her hubby Danny Moder are the proud parents of ...
Phinnaeus Walter and Hazel Patricia
So, what do you think?

Honestly? This is a bit of a rant, warning.
I quite like Hazel Patricia. Hazel's just offbeat enough that I'd be willing to bet we'll see a serious rise in popularity for it in the next year or so. Patricia's not a name I particularly like but it's at least a normal name. Together, the two balance each other somewhat and I like the overall sound of the name.
Phinnaeus Walter is..erm.. different. Phineas Walter would've gotten a blue ribbon from me. Walter, as a family name for them was a lovely choice for a middle name. Mispelling Phineas that badly just gets serious points off. It's not creative, it just looks weird. I have my fingers crossed that it's also a family name that would at least justify the hideous spelling she used. At least it's still phonetically the same name. She graduated the third grade, it seems. ;P
I'm almost hoping she sees some of the comments people are making about the spelling of Phinnaeus and then steps forward and admits that it's been amended. Phineas is an awesome name!
Everyone here probably knows that Phineas is one of my favorite names.

Actually, on an other naming board there is someone who regularly posts birth announcements from Australia.

I agree with you - Hazel is just awful, not for a child in this era. it's not a "classic" that came back like other grandmother names. to me it's in the same thread as Mabel, lots of negative connotations and ditzy characters from shows. I don't like Phinneaus either, but at least the Finn as a nickname isn't too bad.
also agree with cl-masp - only a celebrity's child could pull off having the name Hazel without being teased for it. to me it's even worse than Apple.
oh well, to each their own.
Hmmmm....Not bad. Hazel is definitely cute and quirky, Patricia is a little unexciting, but there's nothing wrong with it. I'm not crazy about the spelling of Phinneaus or the name in general, but I can understand its appeal. Walter is a name that's been gaining points with me lately. Nice, old-fashioned, seriously masculine name. Parents aren't going to be stealing that one for their little girls.
Generally, I think the names are better than a lot of celebrity names I've heard.

I think they are both fine. I like the nn Finn. Finn & Hazel sound like cute twin names to me. These names are not half as bad as Coco & Apple. I'm happy for Julia and her husband.
