Juliana Lynn Bad Idea?

Okay, so I kind of like the name Juliana as an alternative to Julia (it doesn't seem to be quite as popular yet). However, I really wanted to use the name Lynn because it's a family name, and I like it a lot. Of course, then I realize that the last three letters of her fn and the first letter of her mn would spell Anal. Is this too obvious? Would most people realize this and is teasing going to be a big problem? Should I just stick with Julia or come up with a new mn for Juliana?

I never would have noticed that had you not brought it up! I don't think that would be an issue, but if it bothers you, you could use the spelling Julianna instead or switch to Julianne. Good luck!

I don't think it's obvious at all. It would never have crossed my mind.

The only problem I have with Juliana Lynn is that it's a little heavy on the L sounds. But, I would definitely use Lynn since it's a family name and has special meaning to you.

No way, don't let it bother you at all. Some things are just not worth thinking about it. Very pretty name, use it if you love it.

I looked and looked at the combination trying to figure out what the potential problem was and couldn't figure it out until I opened the thread and read your explanation. So I don't think it's a problem. Juliana Lynn is very pretty. I really like it.

It is a little L heavy, as someone else mentioned, but I don't think I ever would have noticed the "anal" thing if you hadn't pointed it out.

However, I don't think I would switch to Juliana to avoid the apparent popularity of Julia (unless you simply like this form better, that would be a different story). I guess it must not be the case everywhere else, but I have yet to meet or even hear about a little Julia among my friends/family/acquaintances, while I've known at least half a dozen Julianas born in the past few years (not to mention the dozens I hear of at the store, on the playground, in local birth announcements, etc.), so to me this is much more popular, at least in real life. Also, Juliana seems much more trendy with all the similar -ana/ana- names currently popular, such as Breana/Briana, Liliana, Iliana, Eliana, Ariana, Anabel, Analise, etc.

Both are nice, feminine names, though, so you won't go wrong no matter what you choose (and I wouldn't worry about the juliANA Lynn thing ... it's not that obvious really).
