I know I am asking for it again, but.... I just can't get past Noble for my daughter's name. Has is grown on anybody??? Do you all still think it is just awful?? We are an Irish family living in southern Texas. She will probably be a blonde-haired, green-eyed southern girl. Most of my friends and family like it but I am afraid they are just being nice. I am due in 3 1/2 weeks and many of them are already calling her Noble. I took it off my official list after the reply I got on this site but everyone around here still likes it (or so they say!)
We were thinking Noble Elizabeth but are not sure about the middle name. Our last name is one syllable with a long o sound so it acutally sounds okay with it.
Please help!! Be honest - I know you will!!!!
Thanks again for putting up with me!

If its a name you just can't let go of, than go with it. At this point, if you name her something else that you don't love as much, I think there will always be that *feeling* deep down that you wish you would have named her Noble. I think Elizabeth is a nice middle name to go with it. And if she is older and really doesn't want to be called Noble, than she can always go by her middle name. But yes, I feel at this point, you should go with your heart!!

It's not really my style and wouldn't work well here (eastern PA), but I do think surname type names are more popular for girls in your area, am I right? If so, I think it could be fine for you, especially if, as you mentioned, most of your family already likes it and thinks of it as her name. As someone else mentioned, if you just can't seem to let go of the name but use something different at this point anyway, I think you may always regret it. I could certainly see a little Texas girl named Noble! ;)

I'm not crazy about it but if it's still stuck on you & you really like it then go for it.
We had wanted to give our 4th son an unusual name & then chickened out. He is almost 2 1/2 years old & we still regret not naming him the name that "called" to us back then. And if anyone could have gotten away w/ the name we wanted to give him it would be him ... he's an outgoing, fun little boy & would have been easily accepted w/ the unusual name.
I don't like it. It sounds too masculin to me. But if you really like it then my opinion shouldn't matter to you ;) If your mom named you Noble could you see yourself as a young girl with the name and then going through school with the name and then being an older woman with the name?
Stand in your house (when you are home alone) and yell the name. Or go to an empty playground and yell the name and see how you feel about it after that. I've heard that really works.
But again, if you really like then go for it.
I don't HATE the name, I just don't like it for a girl, or a human for that matter. I think it would be a great pet name though. :) But again, who cares what I think, go with what YOU like.
