I know I am asking for it again, but.... I just can't get past Noble for my daughter's name. Has is grown on anybody??? Do you all still think it is just awful?? We are an Irish family living in southern Texas. She will probably be a blonde-haired, green-eyed southern girl. Most of my friends and family like it but I am afraid they are just being nice. I am due in 3 1/2 weeks and many of them are already calling her Noble. I took it off my official list after the reply I got on this site but everyone around here still likes it (or so they say!)

We were thinking Noble Elizabeth but are not sure about the middle name. Our last name is one syllable with a long o sound so it acutally sounds okay with it.

Please help!! Be honest - I know you will!!!!

Thanks again for putting up with me!

Hi. I am a lurker here but just wanted to respond. I have a daughter with a similar type of name, Honor. Honor Genevieve, to be specific. Anyway, it is the type of name that people either love or hate. Would I like this as my own name? Absolutely! I do not regret giving her this name at all. I got some flack as well from my MIL who said she was going to call the baby Ginny. She calls her Honor and has never even tried Ginny. I hope that if this names really speaks to you as "the one" you use it.

Hope that helps,

Valerie

I say go with your gut! The name that popped into my mind when you said Noble was Nora, which could be short for Honora. Just thought I'd throw another similar idea out there for you!

I like it. Go for it if you love it and so do the people around you. If your daughter doesn't like it, which I doubt, she could go by her middle name or any of the many nickname possibilities.

I'm sorry, but I don't really like this name for a girl. However my judgement may be a little clouded by the fact that a little blind elderly man named Noble live near me growing up.

But since you like this name, and seem pretty set on using it :) Here are my suggestions for middle names:
(For the Irish Feel)
Noble Aileen
Noble Caryn
Noble Ryanne
Noble Shea

(Other)
Noble Ashlyn
Noble Grace

Or Elizabeth works too. :) Good Luck

IMO Noble Elizabeth sounds like a great name. I think if you like it, you should go with it. Family members tend to be rather harsh and if they really did not like it I think they would let you know or at least not go out of their way to call her by the name.
Good Luck with whatever name you choose!
