Since my DH and I love Keaton so much (we were going to use it for a MN), we've decided to use it as the FN. Do you think it's masculine enough??? Will there be that question as to whether it's a boy or girl??? What do you think of Keaton Tanner St***ey??? Any other MN suggestions will be very appreciated.

TIA,

April

Hi, April. I love surnames for girls, but to me, Keaton is ALL boy. I don't think ANY name even Joseph or Joshua is safe from the use of a girl's name, though. Yet I HIGHLY doubt you'll see a girl named Keaton. The trend actually seems to be shifting AWAY from surnames for girls.

Anyway, I think Keaton is a PERFECT fit with your other children's names! I don't usually like the same two sounds back-to-back like Kea-(ton Tan)-ner but this one doesn't bother me so much.

Have you thought about a mn with a neat meaning since he is the third? It would sort of set him apart a little bit...just a thought. Actually, you may already know Maxwell mn Conor means "wise."

Combos I like with sibs' names- Keaton Ramsey, Keaton Wade, Keaton Brody, Keaton Gage

Keaton Hartley, Keaton Seth, Keaton Pierce, Keaton Rhett, Keaton Bradley

Names with meaning- Keaton Erik (leader, hero), Keaton Kellar (little companion), Keaton Rainer(counselor, friend), Keaton Joshua(God is my salvation), Keaton Matthew(gift of God), Keaton Zachary(in remembrance of God), Keaton Leif(beloved), Keaton Oliver(kind, affectionate), Keaton Jeffrey (divinely peaceful), Keaton Michael(who is like God)

HERE'S MY VOTE- Keaton Asher (happy, blessed)

Hope this helps, and keep us posted! Sincerely, Ginger

I see Keaton as all boy.

however, I think the flow of Tanner Keaton is far better than the flow of Keaton Tanner.

the T to start Tanner just comes too soon after the t in Keaton, awkward transition.

Tanner Keaton sounds really good.

good luck.

My first impression was "boy," so I do think it is masculine enough. I like it!

I would only think of a boy if I heard that name. I like Tanner as mn too. Go for it.

My 4 year old godson is Keyton James. He was the first I knew. since his birth I have met one boy Keaton & 3 girl Keetin's ages 4, 7 & 14. So while I do think it's more of a boy name, it's being used for girls too.

My friend just named her baby girl Keaton and although it seems fitting for this baby, so I don't see it as masculine or feminine. I'm not a big fan of last names as first names, so I'm not a good judge, but if I was to try to be objective, I think I would think it was a more masculine name than feminine. Either way, I don't think I'd name my child a name that was questionable. Also, I don't like the combination of Keaton and Tanner, in my opinion it's just too cutsie. Sorry, I'm just being honest!!

Keaton Tanner is nice! I like Keaton for a boy very much, also Stefan Tanner or Tanner Drake was going to be my dd's name had she been a boy. I ended up naming my son Cameron Drake. And, Keegan (sim. to Keaton) was one name I thought of for him too! Good luck!
