I absolutely LOVE the name Brooklyn, for a girl. DH likes it, but doesn't like Brook, and is afraid everyone will call her that. Do you have that problem? I say, it will not be a problem if I emphasize that her name is BROOKLYN!!!! NOT BROOK!!!

I am obviously not Kismet29, but we have some good friends who have a little girl named Brooklyn. I have never heard anyone call her by just "Brooke." The name Brooklyn itself is a nice name, and it's really not likely to be shortened by anyone unless you or her start it.

Good Luck,

Brooke (not Brooklyn)

I wouldn't think you'd run into that problem either, as long as you make it known from the start. My daughter's name is Kaitlyn, and NO ONE calls her Kait (although she has the option to use it when she's older if she prefers, so that's a good thing too).

Hi there,

My daughter always goes by Brooklyn. I haven't really had a problem with anyone calling her Brook. Once in awhile we call her Brookie Cookie but that's about it.

I do get a lot of compliments on her name though.

Best of luck to you!
